Youngkin defends transgender policies, executive order on ‘critical race theory’ at CNN town hall

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) defended his “model policies” on transgender students and his executive order banning “critical race theory” from public school education at a CNN town hall on Thursday.

Youngkin, who has fueled rumors of a potential 2024 presidential bid, has continued to emphasize education and “parents’ rights” during his first two years in the governor’s mansion after the issues helped boost him to victory in 2021.

Mexico Warns Republicans About Border War

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador sent a stark warning to GOP lawmakers after some elected officials advocated for the United States to take military action against drug cartels south of the border.

"We are not going to permit any foreign government to intervene in our territory, much less that a government's armed forces intervene," López Obrador said during a Thursday news conference. He added that Mexico was its own sovereign state and "not a protectorate of the United States, nor a colony of the United States."

Doing maga/trump/cons dirty work. Doing what cons want done but most wont do themselves. But hey, I know, lets give tons of oxygen to a 3rd party candidate who appeals to progressives so we can elect desatan as prez to put a final nail in our coffins.

Young Kin doesn't have to worry. They never taught critical race theory anywhere but post-graduate law schools. Most people who hate it can't define it.

Silicon Valley Bank ex-CEO backed Big Tech lobbying groups that targeted Dodd-Frank, sought corporate tax cuts

Before Silicon Valley Bank’s failure, its former CEO Greg Becker backed two tech industry lobbying groups that tried to influence the Dodd-Frank financial reform law and pushed to cut corporate taxes, according to records reviewed by CNBC.

In the buildup to the bank’s collapse, Becker chaired a group called TechNet and was a board member of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, two trade organizations that have lobbied government officials on a range of issues tied to the firm. Becker stepped down as chairman of TechNet at the start of the year but remained on the group’s executive council until Monday, when he resigned.

Right-Wing Radio Host Calls For Execution of Obama and Others if Trump’s Indicted

Pete Santilli, a right-wing radio host, advocated recently on his show for the execution of former President Barack Obama along with former Attorney General Eric Holder and former National Security Advisor Susan Rice if former President Donald Trump is indicted this week — as Trump has claimed he will be.

This comes after Trump’s post on Truth Social over the weekend where he alleged that he will be arrested Tuesday stemming from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation over a hush-money payment to adult star Stormy Daniels.

Pro-Trump Democrat Roger Bacon files for State Senate seat

He wants to Drain the Swamp. He’s called for the removal of Gov. Phil Murphy from office. And he’s running as a Democrat for the New Jersey State Senate.

Self-styled pro-Trump Democrat Roger Bacon, who by now is something of an in-joke for New Jersey politicos, has filed to run for the 23rd legislative district this year under the slogan of “Drain the Swamp in Trenton Now!” It marks his eighth campaign for public office – and, presumably, will soon mark his eighth consecutive defeat.

Trump lawyer calls post attacking Bragg 'ill-advised,' says 'I'm not his social media consultant'

Donald Trump's lawyer on Sunday distanced himself from his clients' escalating attacks on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg as he weighs criminal charges against the former president.

“I’m not his social media consultant," Joe Tacopina said in an interview on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” when pressed by host Chuck Todd whether he would advise a client to personally attack a prosecutor. "I think that was an ill-advised post that one of his social media people put up and he quickly took down when he realized the rhetoric and the folder that was attached to it."

Trump Supporter Pulls Knife on Family Outside of Manhattan Courthouse

A WOMAN PROTESTING on behalf of Trump outside of Manhattan’s courthouse was arrested after she brandished a knife at a family with two young children, according to a report from Politico.

The woman, who according to witnesses was standing outside of the building with an “I support Trump, do you?” sign, began arguing with a couple crossing an intersection with a stroller carrying two children. The woman pulled a knife with an approximately six-inch blade on the couple and began waving it at them, according to witnesses who spoke to Politico.

Austin confronts GOP senator for blocking military nominations over abortion policy

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin warned Tuesday that military readiness could be impaired by the growing list of senior military nominations being blocked by Alabama Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville over his opposition to a Pentagon abortion policy.

"Not approving the recommendation for promotions actually creates a ripple effect with the force that makes us far less ready than we need to be," Austin said responding to a question from Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Jack Reed, D-R.I., during a hearing on the Pentagon's defense budget.

Texas GOP Proposes Bill To Allow Sec Of State To Overturn Election Results In State’s Largest Blue County

Republican members of the Texas state legislature introduced a slate of bills Thursday designed to subvert election processes and curb voting rights in the state. One of them would even allow the Texas Secretary of State to overturn election results in the state’s largest Democratic-leaning county, with very little rationale for doing so.

On Thursday, Republican state senators introduced Senate Bill 1993, a bill targeting Harris County, a diverse region that includes Houston and is also the most populous county in Texas, to a Senate committee for debate.

House GOP takes its fight with Alvin Bragg to New York City

The Republican-led House Judiciary Committee is slated to hold a hearing in New York City next week focused on violent crime in the Big Apple, the latest iteration of the House GOP zeroing in on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) after a grand jury he empaneled indicted former President Trump.

The field hearing, titled “Victims of Violent Crime in Manhattan,” is scheduled for April 17 at 9 a.m. at the Javits Federal Building in Manhattan. The committee has not yet announced witnesses.

They'll want to investigate the Proud Boys then. They did the last really violent incident on the Upper East Side. Oh, and there's a guy who used to actually live in his nice pad on 5th Avenue before he got elected president with help of Vladimir Putin, though he now prefers Florida like all the old rich white folks seem to. He could bear some investigation, though of course his way of inciting others to violence is socially approved.

Say, those billionaire skinny 110-story condos that line 59th st are something of an act of visual violence against Central Park. Let's investigate how those got permitted. Ditto the audible Apocalypse Daily of tourist helicopters from New Jersey that the FAA can't do anything about.

San Francisco DA blasts Elon Musk over reaction to tech executive's stabbing death

SAN FRANCISCO — In the hours after a tech executive was stabbed to death on a street in San Francisco with no clear suspect, billionaire Elon Musk led a charge on Twitter, where fellow tech executives and wealthy investors said they were fed up with violent repeat offenders’ getting away with crime in the biggest U.S. tech hub.

On Thursday, it became clear that their interpretation of the killing had been wrong.

Pentagon leaks suspect wins praise from far-right US politicians and media

Washington lawmakers have written off Jack Teixeira, the 21-year-old air national guardsman accused of being behind the worst US intelligence leak in a decade, as an “alleged criminal” after his arrest yesterday, but that hasn’t stopped him from winning praise from the political right.

“He revealed the crimes, therefore he’s the criminal. That’s how Washington works. Telling the truth is the only real sin,” declared the Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson on Thursday evening in the opening monologue of his show, which is the most watched on cable television. “The news media are celebrating the capture of the kid who told Americans what’s actually happening in Ukraine. They are treating him like Osama bin Laden,” the late al-Qaida terrorist leader.

Funny how crime in NYC wasn't a crisis until the DA pissed off some drumpfoids at Faux.

Say, does faux on 6th Avenue still have an armored vehicle parked out front with an ad for a battle tactics training course?

Fulton County sanctioned over copying ’20 voting machine data

HARRISBURG — A Pennsylvania Republican-majority county government where two commissioners secretly allowed a third party to copy voting-machine data last year to help former President Donald Trump overturn his 2020 reelection defeat received contempt sanctions Wednesday from the state’s highest court.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled against Fulton County commissioners Stuart Ulsh and Randy Bunch — and their lawyers — for their behavior late last fall during pending litigation.

Supreme Court may extend free-speech rights to online stalkers

The Supreme Court heard a free-speech case on Wednesday and sounded ready to make it much harder to prosecute alleged online stalkers who repeatedly send unwanted and harassing messages that leave the recipient upset and frightened.

At issue is whether prosecutors must prove the sender intended to make true threats.
