Another corrupt SC Judge who should be removed.

Law firm head bought Gorsuch-owned property

For nearly two years beginning in 2015, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch sought a buyer for a 40-acre tract of property he co-owned in rural Granby, Colo.

Nine days after he was confirmed by the Senate for a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court, the then-circuit court judge got one: The chief executive of Greenberg Traurig, one of the nation’s biggest law firms with a robust practice before the high court. Gorsuch owned the property with two other individuals.

Tuberville blocks Warren’s attempt to begin advancing 184 military promotions

Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R) on Tuesday blocked a request by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) to allow 184 military promotions to move forward over his objection to the Pentagon’s recently enacted abortion policy.

Tuberville’s protest of the Defense Department’s policy of providing leave and reimbursing some expenses for service members who must travel to obtain abortions has held up a range of military promotions for months, and the first-term senator is vowing not to back down anytime soon.

The GOP is so vile this is criminal.

“Massive turnover in local election officials likely before 2024, says new survey; A new survey suggests that more than 1 in 5 local election officials will have never worked a presidential election next year.”

A new survey from the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law predicts huge turnover in local election officials before the 2024 election.

According to the survey, 12% of local officials began working in their roles after the 2020 election and 11% said they were very or somewhat likely to quit before next year’s election. A small number fell into both categories: new employees who suggested they will leave.

Jane Roberts, who is married to Chief Justice John Roberts, made $10.3 million in commissions from elite law firms, whistleblower documents show

Two years after John Roberts' confirmation as the Supreme Court's chief justice in 2005, his wife, Jane Sullivan Roberts, made a pivot. After a long and distinguished career as a lawyer, she refashioned herself as a legal recruiter, a matchmaker who pairs job-hunting lawyers up with corporations and firms.

Roberts told a friend that the change was motivated by a desire to avoid the appearance of conflicts of interest, given that her husband was now the highest-ranking judge in the country. "There are many paths to the good life," she said. "There are so many things to do if you're open to change and opportunity."

Kemp signs bill allowing removal of local prosecutors in Georgia

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) signed a bill on Friday to establish a commission with the power to remove local prosecutors who “refuse to uphold the law.”

Kemp’s office said in a release that he established the Prosecuting Attorneys Qualifications Commission (PACQ) with his signature to serve as “a valuable oversight mechanism” for district attorneys and solicitors-general throughout the state. The office said the commission will ensure these officials fulfill their constitutional and statutory responsibilities.

Yep, there was never a shred of doubt.

Let's see if they actually remove her, it should warrant 5 million patriots to show up at the governor's house and the homes of the fascist legislators. For a peaceful opportunity to make it clear we will not let them move a step without hearing 5 million people screaming in their faces.
I sigh in your general direction.

Georgia House Bill 231 authorizes the appointment of members to the Prosecuting Attorneys Oversight Commission on October 1, 2023 and its members will take office on Jan 1, 2024. They will establish their rules and regulations by April 1, 2024 and no complaint shall be received before April 1, 2024.
https://legiscan.com/GA/text/HB231/2023

So Kemp signing this bill won't immediately affect Frani Willis' ability to indict TFG or begin the process of actually prosecuting him. What it has the power to do is to remove her after April 1, 2024. If TFG is indicted, he'll delay the trial until after April 1, 2024 in which time the commission will move to remove her.

This bill is dangerous to democracy in that it allows the state to interfere in the investigation and prosecution political, wealththy, and well-connected figures. It's corruption at the state level by those running the state.

The appropriate response to her being fired would be something the human race has never seen before. MILLIONS should show up, just like MILLIONS should show up when the cons kill the economy. let them know in advance that we will be there to greet them, MILLIONS of us.

But that cant happen, people have to work etc.

Cons on this board are going to kill a bunch of us before it is all over.

Yep The GOP continues to stoop lower & lower it never ends.

Newly Elected Democrat Bennett excluded from Harford County Council Inauguration by Republicans

The new Harford County Executive of Harford County, MD, Bob Cassilly, ran an honest campaign in which his admiration for the previous President of the U.S. was fully acknowledged. Cassilly began implementing the tactics of his role model even before taking office. In an outrageously immature stunt, Cassilly held a public swearing in for himself and his fellow elected Republicans while refusing to acknowledge Jacob Bennett, the duly elected Democratic Representative for Council District F.

Further exhibiting a disregard for the elected office holder, Bennett was not provided an office or other materials after being privately sworn into office. Just as the former president loosely quotes the Constitution and then dismisses the document when it is shown not to support him, Cassilly’s spokesperson justifies his refusal to acknowledge the results of County Districts F’s election by declaring that Bennett is barred by the County Charter from serving as a Council Representative while also serving as a teacher employed by the Harford County Board of Education. This declaration is baseless.

Extreme anger in San Francisco over lack of charges in Walgreens shooting

San Francisco residents ripped into city leaders Tuesday after District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that her office would not be filing charges against the private security guard who allegedly shot and killed 24-year-old Banko Brown in front of a Walgreens store last week.

Nowhere was the anger more visible than at City Hall. More than two dozen community members rose to speak during a Board of Supervisors meeting, where they called on elected officials to do something in response to Brown's killing. Many were visibly emotional and didn't mince words when speaking to the board.

Special counsel John Durham concludes FBI never should have launched Trump-Russia probe

(CNN) — Special counsel John Durham concluded that the FBI should never have launched a full investigation into connections between Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia during the 2016 election, according to a report compiled over three years by the Trump-administration appointee and released on Monday.

Durham’s 300-plus page report also states that the FBI used “raw, unanalyzed, and uncorroborated intelligence,” to launch the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation into Trump and Russia but used a different standard when weighing concerns about alleged election interference regarding Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Pentagon leak suspect Jack Teixeira was preparing for a violent 'race war' against Black and Jewish people, report says
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/penta ... r-AA1bb6XM

Jack Teixeira, 21, was charged with leaking secret Pentagon documents last month.
The Air National Guard member was preparing for a violent "race war," The Washington Post found.

The Pentagon leak suspect Jack Teixeira was preparing for what he envisioned would be a violent "race war," according to The Washington Post.

Teixeira, a 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guard member, was arrested last month in connection with the leak of dozens of top-secret Pentagon documents about the war in Ukraine and other national security issues.

The Washington Post said it uncovered his racist views and suspicion of the government by interviewing several of his close friends and reviewing previously unpublished videos and chat logs.

"He used the term 'race war' quite a few times," a close friend of Teixeira's, who spoke to the Post on the condition of anonymity, said.

Warner CEO booed at Boston University as supporters of writers’ strike picket outside

BOSTON (AP) — Scores of Boston University students turned their backs on the head of one of Hollywood’s biggest studios, and some shouted “pay your writers,” as he gave the school’s commencement address Sunday in a stadium where protesters supporting the Hollywood writers’ strike picketed outside.

About 100 protesters chanted “No wages, no pages,” waved signs and were accompanied by an inflatable rat outside Nickerson Field as David Zaslav, president and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, gave his address inside the stadium. Thousands of graduating students, family members and educators attending the graduation ceremony had to walk by the protesters to enter the stadium.

Airbnb and Hosts Sue City, Calling New Registration Rules a Virtual Ban

Hospitality giant Airbnb and several of its local hosts filed lawsuits against New York City on Thursday, with both seeking to block a new short-term rental law and registration rules that they say effectively bans stays — and could force the cancellation of thousands of summer vacations.

The short-term rental registration law, which took effect on March 6, requires property owners and tenants to register their properties with city government before seeking to list short-term rentals on platforms such as Airbnb and VRBO.

Manchin thanks GOP for permitting reform in debt deal

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) thanked Republicans on Sunday for helping secure permitting reform in the debt ceiling bill, a provision he has long fought to pass despite some pushback from factions of both parties.

“Oh, I say thank you. Absolutely. A big thank you for [Speaker] Kevin McCarthy [R-Calif.] and his leadership team. Our Republican colleagues in the Senate, all of us, have spearheaded this thing from day one,” Manchin said on “Fox News Sunday” with Shannon Bream.

Judge who once did legal work for Trump can continue in criminal case

Neither former President Trump nor Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg object to Judge Alvin Hellerstein presiding over a matter related to Trump's criminal prosecution, the two sides indicated Monday in separate letters to the court.

Hellerstein revealed last week that he had once performed legal work for a Trump entity in the 1990s while in private practice but said he did not believe that would affect his impartiality. He retired from the firm in 1998.
