All these cancel culture anteefuh marxist and socilaists are ruining the fabric of society!

Iowa Republican; felony charges for teachers over ‘obscene’ books - LA Blade
Sen. Brad Zaun said he supported charging teachers who allow students to read “obscene” books, including LGBTQ+ themed books, with felonies
The LA Blade missed an opportunity to talk about California's Briggs Initiative, js.
At the initial reconsideration committee meeting on November 10, Zaun said he believed books about exploring identities and sexualities are inappropriate for students, reports the Iowa Starting Line. He added that he would work hard to create legislation to charge teachers with felonies if they allowed students to read such books.

“My warning to all the teachers and the administrators is you’re going to be in jail,” he said. “Because this is distributing pornography. And I will work my tail end off and it will become law.”

Zaun, who is president of the state Senate Judiciary Committee, added: “I would have to say I’m sick to my stomach that it’s going to take another meeting. In the meantime, this garbage curriculum or books are being taught to our kids. And I can assure you that I will be working on this legislation next year in regards to enhancing the penalties.”

According to the Starting Line, Republican Iowa state Sen. Jake Chapman, president of the Iowa Senate, made similar comments at the second meeting on November 18.

“I can tell you, if this material was in my school, I’d be going to law enforcement. I would be asking for a criminal investigation. I would be asking for every single teacher who disseminated that information to be held criminally responsible,” said Chapman. “If we need to, as the state of Iowa, provide deeper clarity when it comes to that and enhance those penalties, I will do that.”

The books in question during the meetings were “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” by Sherman Alexei and “The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas, according to the publication.

Alexei’s novel deals with a Native teenage boy living in poverty but attending a wealthy, mostly white high school.

Thomas’ book deals with a similar theme, as a teenage Black girl balances life living in a poor neighborhood but attending a private school. She witnesses a childhood friend killed by a police officer in the story.
The news comes as Republicans nationwide continue to push to ban books dealing with race, sexuality and gender identity. The Blade reported Wednesday that the American Library Association (ALA) has documented 155 separate incidents of efforts to remove or ban books that document LGBTQ+ or Black experiences.
Conservative white hatred of not-white people is inextricable from their homophobia and trans phobia. You can tell by what these depraved WSs want public education to do to their own children's minds. These everyday, banal lunatics don't even care if their own little suburban six-year-olds get mass-murdered in their classrooms. :(

I can take or leave "white privilege" or "______ privilege" discourse. To me, it's a euphemistic phrase meant to sofen the impact of what white-conservative, state-forced racism has done to everyone else, including other whites.

That said, there is always a social, material, and physical penalty that conservative whites make fellow whites pay for being nigger lovers, whatever the contemporary discorse of the day may be.

A White teacher taught White students about White privilege. It cost him his job. - Whole Foods Post
Amid a growing furor over critical race theory, Matthew Hawn told his high school students in rural Kingsport, Tenn., that White privilege is ‘a fact’

Hawn said he’d never heard of critical race theory until he was accused of teaching it.

But in May, the same month Hawn was fired, the Tennessee legislature passed a law banning it from its schools and forbidding educators from teaching that “an individual, by virtue of the individual’s race or sex, is inherently privileged, racist, sexist or oppressive.”

At least 11 Republican-led states have now passed laws or approved resolutions censoring what educators can say about race in K-12 classrooms, according to a Washington Post analysis. Dozens more are considering similar policies.

Walking back up the hill toward his house, Hawn nodded to an elderly White neighbor mowing his lawn. The man nodded back, and they struck up a conversation about leaf blowers — Hawn’s was on the fritz. The man identified as conservative, like nearly everybody else in Kingsport, but he had once told Hawn he did not agree with the district’s decision to fire him.

The interaction reinforced Hawn’s feeling, building all morning, that he would get his $60,000-a-year job back. This was his hometown. These were his people. They knew him, and they knew what kind of a teacher he really was.

America is fading away like in "Back To The Future" when Marty looks at his hands while playing guitar, because his to be parents havent kissed yet.

I will never get the picture out of my head when the fascist was running against HRC and nightly Rachel would play the horrible thing the traitor said or did that day and she would say it in a "I cant believe this is happening, but thankfully HRC will win and we wont have to deal with it much longer" kind of way, know what I mean? We all thought it couldn't happen. And then it did.

Of course Comey and Putin made it happen, but it did happen. Oh, the board cons made it happen also, I dont believe them when they say they didnt vote for him and the few that didnt made sure people knew how much they didnt trust HRC and that was worse.
I sigh in your general direction.

IDK if you saw this one but I put this in the 1619 Project Book thread. Conservative whites did something similar in South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia, targeting teachers, specifically. viewtopic.php?p=7819#p7819

Conservative whites just want CRT banned because they don't want their White Citizens Council news photos showing up in course materials. Or the businesses of the advertisers that propped up that newspaper, either.

Not only that, there are tons and tons and TONS of African-American newspapers starting from the 1800s that exposed these people for the vicious WSs they are. For instance, one of the newspapers referenced above is the Alabama Tribune. Wikipedia lists 25 Black newspapers that have existed just in Montgomery, Alabama, alone. This is just what Wikipedia lists for all of Alabama. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_A ... in_Alabama

Many of these papers have been steadily coming online through various digital humanities and digital archives over the past couple decades.

So, too bad, conservative whites; that horse left the barn decades ago, and is still leaving the barn...digital archives don't lie...good luck trying to scrub the whole internet for the evidence of what you've done to everyone else...

'Attack on books': Over 600 authors, publishers, groups condemn book bans - NBC News
The signatories — including author Judy Blume and the American Library Association —condemned the recent wave of LGBTQ- and race-related book bans.
The group included more than 50 independent bookstores, nearly 80 advocacy groups, top American publishing companies (including Penguin Random House and Scholastic) and dozens of authors, including bestselling children's book author Judy Blume.

Books about race, sexual orientation and gender identity have historically been challenged in schools, but over the last several weeks, school libraries have seen a surge of opposition.

Last month, the governors of Texas and South Carolina urged state school officials to ban several books that contain “pornography” and “obscene” content. A school board member in Flagler County, Florida, filed a criminal report with local authorities after finding copies of “All Boys Aren’t Blue” — a young-adult memoir detailing the trials of being a Black queer boy — in her district’s school libraries. And in Virginia’s Spotsylvania County, school board members voted to have books with “sexually explicit” material removed from school library shelves, with two board members calling for the books to be incinerated.

Smaller, lighter, leaner, nimbler, more efficient government.

'Government Bans Words' Seems Like a Free Speech Issue - Esquire
After years of hysteria about free speech on college campuses, state legislatures are actually trying to police what people can discuss in schools.

All this reminds me of my days in catechism class, where asking the wrong question could shut down the discussion and possibly get you on God's naughty list. Even discussing the prospect that Black people might have a bumpier ride in America is a grave horror, it seems. The only solution, in the free state of Wisconsin, is for the government to ban such discussions in public schools. Just like in catechism class, the mark of a strong argument is refusing to have one at all. Helpfully, the State Journal provides the full list of words that, according to Republican Chuck Wichgers of Muskego, the government intends to prohibit:

Teachers Call BS on DeSantis’ Bonkers Attempt to Outlaw Critical Race Theory
The governor’s “Stop W.O.K.E. Act” will also allow parents to sue any schools that dabble in CRT, and will force students to take civics tests.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/florida-t ... in-schools

Education and human rights experts shredded Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis after he announced a new tactic in his war on “wokeness” and critical race theory on Wednesday, saying the Republican firebrand completely missed the mark and doesn’t even appear to know the meaning of critical race theory.

While standing onstage with a group of people holding stop signs with “CRT” crossed out, DeSantis unveiled the “Stop W.O.K.E. Act,” which stands for “Stop Wrongs Against our Kids and Employees Act.”

Without actually proving that critical race theory is taught in Florida schools    , DeSantis said it will be banished from all public schools. In a novel tactic, parents will be able to sue schools suspected of teaching the ideology. He quipped that parents know what’s best for their children and that educators lie about whether they teach critical race theory to students.

[snip]

But Florida teacher Dr. Cindy Banyai, who ran as a Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives last year, said no K-12 schools in Florida even teach CRT. (*)

[snip]

Florida Education Association President Andrew Spar said in a statement that politicians shouldn’t be trying to censor teachers’ ability to teach American history.

“Teachers are trained and experienced in educating children and have a duty to prepare their students to be successful contributors to society. Teachers should have the freedom to teach honest, complete facts about historical events like slavery and civil rights without being censored by politicians,” the statement said. “The governor’s announcement today goes against this fundamental American value. All Florida’s children should receive a fact-based education that doesn’t change depending on their ZIP code.”

[snip]

DeSantis even invoked Martin Luther King Jr. on Wednesday   , claiming that “people don't talk enough” about the late civil rights leader’s desire for people “to be judged on the content of their character, not their skin color”—an ironic argument considering critical race theory urges people to examine how race systemically affects how people of color are treated.

[snip]

But human rights activist and attorney Qasim Rashid countered on Twitter that “Passing laws like the Stop Woke Act to ban teaching about the existence of racism literally proves a central point of critical race theory—that racism is often built in to our legal system & must be actively purged to achieve true justice.”

Florida State House Democratic candidate Evan Shields dismissed the bill to The Daily Beast as just another political stunt. “DeSantis is doing his usual thing,” he said. “Playing dog whistle politics on fake problems in a run up to 2024. Instead of uplifting Florida kids and families recovering from the pandemic. It’s sad.”

[snip]

Adding one more insane measure to the mix, DeSantis said Florida students will have to take a test when they finish school to prove their loyalty.

[snip][end]

(*) Dr. Banyai, surely you know the area around deStupid is a fact-free zone, please stop fidgeting with his reality distortion field.
'
Uh huh. Because making students pass a loyalty test to graduate school is totally not a form of indoctrination.

‘Children smuggled in underground tunnels for the enjoyment of demons’: DeSantis introduces anti-critical race theory bill alongside ‘QAnon follower’ and ‘Proud Boys backer - Daily Dot
Moms for Liberty Miami’s website prominently displays a photo of Jimenez-Hincapie with QAnon hero Michael Flynn.

The organization staunchly opposes masks and vaccine requirements, a belief that is shared by, though not exclusive to many QAnon followers. It’s also come out against critical race theory.

Jiminez-Hincapie has also reportedly shared content from Proud Boys’ social media accounts.

Miami Against Fascism tweeted screenshots of her “sharing in Telegram doxxes from the Miami Proud Boy[s] of school board meeting attendees, journalists, and local activists.”

One of the purported doxes refers to someone the Proud Boys claim is with Miami Against Fascism as a “mutant,” a homophobic slur, and “one of the beta pansies.”

“Not shocking at all its an immigrant LGBTQ member,” Jiminez-Hincapie reportedly commented, “…don’t worry, we will keep you in our prayers when Karma catches up to you. Get help.”

Per Miami Against Fascism, Jiminez-Hincapie is also the leader of another group that’s posted anti-LGBTQ content.

The push to ban books in Texas schools spreads to public libraries - Texas Tribune
The Llano County community’s push to scrutinize the local library’s book stacks comes two months after a Texas lawmaker first questioned the inclusion of more than 850 books about race, equality or sexuality in public school libraries.

And Llano County is not the only community in Texas asking harder questions.

The rise in public library book complaints

Local public libraries in Texas, including those in Victoria, Irving and Tyler, are fielding a flurry of book challenges from local residents. While book challenges are nothing new, there has been a growing number of complaints about books for libraries in recent months. And the fact that the numbers are rising after questions are being raised about school library content seems more than coincidental, according to the Texas Library Association.

“I think it definitely ramped it up,” said Wendy Woodland, the TLA’s director of advocacy and communication, of the late October investigation into school library reading materials launched by state Rep. Matt Krause in his role as chair of the House Committee on General Investigating.

In response to Krause’s inquiry, Gov. Greg Abbott tapped the Texas Education Agency to investigate the availability of “pornographic books” in schools. In the weeks since, school districts across the state have launched reviews of their book collections, and state officials have begun investigating student access to inappropriate content.
These are the same people who wanted to ban Tinky Winky.

It's weird, she posts a lot on LGBTQ issues, too, but nobody calls her - well what would be the equivalent there of "race troll" - a homo-supremacist? :D

She also says a lot of problems in this country come from conservative white males. Does that make her sexist? (As a non-con white male, I would say no, and agree with the observation.)

As duBois noted in the early 20th c., the central hangup of this country - not that I'm saying class, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity don't matter, they always have - is the color line. 21st century, still right. (Looking at what's going on in Europe, not a uniquely American thing, either.)

As duBois noted in the early 20th c., the central hangup of this country - not that I'm saying class, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity don't matter, they always have - is the color line. 21st century, still right. (Looking at what's going on in Europe, not a uniquely American thing, either.)
You know this is why I don’t put any of these jokers on ignore. These ones like Pottymouth Karenwater who make a big shot of claiming they’ve had me on ignore for years, and Mister :ignore:, and the like.

Dishonest board members.

Of all people on, um, EARTH to br talking about someone else being a Johnny One-Note… Isn’t this the same self-loathing person who actually claims whites are genetically weakened, or some debunked, 1910s race-science shxt like that? I’m the “racist,” though. :? Okay.

Anyway. Thing is, I post about all manner of things here, but only one topic stands out to them due to their own cultural anxieties.
