Texas House Republican Candidate Wants To Ban Chinese Students From State Universities.

https://www.star-telegram.com/news/poli ... 37222.html.

Dallas salon owner Shelley Luther’s recent tweet that “Chinese students should be BANNED from attending all Texas universities” is being met with criticism from a state representative who says the statements are hateful and could incite violence.

No more communists,” the tweet reads.

Luther gained national attention in 2020 when she was arrested after refusing to close her salon in violation of Gov. Greg Abbott’s COVID-19 orders designed to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Understand this is where we are going.

All but white supremacists will be extinguished.

This is the goal. Maybe they will try and make us all slaves or they will just eliminate us. Or, we can fight, but we have to start by getting some HIGH profile Democrat to go on TV, accidentally but on purpose (well rehearsed) let expletives fly while telling people they must DEMAND trump accept his loss and DEMAND that pols in both parties pass voting rights.
I sigh in your general direction.

Well, that's always been their goal. They're going to have to get up WAY earlier in the morning.

Smaller, leaner, lighter, less intrusive government ...

Florida bill would allow cameras in classrooms and microphones on teachers
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/florida-bi ... -teachers/

Florida lawmakers are debating a bill that would allow schools districts to put cameras in classrooms and microphones on teachers.

The measure was proposed by state Representative Bob Rommel, a Republican from Naples.

"I think if we can do it in a safe way to protect the privacy of students and teachers, I think we should do it," he told CBS Miami. "I haven't heard a response good or bad from any teachers, but … it's not their private space. It's our children's space, too."

But Broward Teachers Union President Anna Fusco told the station a handful of Broward County Public Schools already has them.

"That is happening right now," she said, though under limited circumstances.

According to the Broward County Public Schools website, parents of a student can request that a camera system with visual and audio capability be placed in a classroom if the student has a disability and is an individualized program in which the majority of students has a disability. That's permitted under Florida House Bill 149, which was passed in July.

[snip]

"You want to play Big Brother every moment? That's not how society should be. We need to get back to where we have trust, we have value, we have faith and we have conversations and we can work things out if something happens," Fusco said.

She warns that the proposal could discourage even more people from turning to teaching in Florida.

[snip][end]

Think this through Rep. Rommel. Remember, any recording of the classroom will have not only everything the teachers says and does, but if we're talking young kids, every one napping and drooling on their desk, picking a booger, asking dumb questions of the teacher, and anything else parents might not want recorded of their kids, ready to upload to TikTok, or wherever else ...

This is unnecessary. We do not need to monitor our teachers. If they are doing something inappropriate, children can report it, it can be verified as to what occurred, and if necessary, action taken. Big Brother is not needed for that.

Teens come out for newly created Kutztown Banned Book Club - Reading Eagle

Good!
Bi-weekly discussions will focus on classic novels, current hot topics

A Kutztown middle schooler created a Teen Banned Book Club to discuss and celebrate challenged stories, discussing both classic novels and current hot topics.

A group of 9 youth, ranging in grades 7 to 11 mostly from the Kutztown area, attended the club’s first meeting held at Firefly Bookstore in Kutztown on Jan. 12.

Joslyn Diffenbaugh, a 14-year-old Kutztown 8th grader, created this club after reading about public outcry to ban books in schools nationwide and locally based on topics of race, gender identity and sexuality.

“I wanted to make sure teens have access to books that they can personally relate to or have interest in and not to let groups in our community dictate what we can and cannot read,” said Joslyn.

“After seeing the proposed book banning in Texas and the experience in Central York School District, I became concerned about censorship in our own community,” said her mother, Lisa who helped establish the club. “Unfortunately, we are seeing a group in our community begin to propose book banning during our school board meetings.”

In November, there were heated discussions between parents and school board members during several meetings regarding LGBTQ+-themed books thought to be available to students in the high school library. Concerned parents said the books have inappropriate graphic adult content and demanded the books be removed.

Superintendent Christian Temchatin confirmed that the books in question were purchased by the district, but they were not placed on the school library shelves or made available to students. School officials did not specify the book titles.

Following Objection to Instructional Material or Topics Policy procedures, the books were to be evaluated and remain out of circulation until the process is complete. No further updates have been announced since then.

Sharing her own concerns with her mother, Joslyn came up with the idea for a book club for teens. Her goal is to have good open conversations with other teens about books that others may not necessarily want teens to read and form their own opinions.

“This club gives teens the opportunity to read books that speak to them and be able to freely discuss their own opinions without censorship. It also gives them the opportunity to look at the history of book banning and relate it to what is happening today,” her mother said.
Well, I sure hope Joslyn has stepped up her personal security detail. Good on her!

It's always three things with these people: race, gender, and sexuality.

These dirty cons do this under the guise of "but what about the children" and "religious liberty."

93 Potential Graves Found At Canadian School Site.

https://www.rawstory.com/93-potential-g ... hool-site/.

An Indigenous community in Canada has identified nearly 100 "potential" graves at a residential school site, months after the discovery of hundreds of children's remains at former boarding schools rocked the country.

The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN) community said on Tuesday that a geophysical survey revealed "93 reflections" with characteristics "indicative of potential human burials" at the former St. Joseph's Mission residential school in British Columbia.

Investigators "surveyed approximately 14 hectares of the broader 480-hectare site", which is about 300 kilometers (186 miles) north of Kamloops -- where the remains of 215 children were found in May.

Since May, more than 1,000 anonymous graves have been found near former "Indian residential schools" run by religious groups, shedding light on a dark chapter in Canadian history and its policy of forced assimilation of First Nations people

Nobody has to lie about anti-Native coursework in a Georgia public charter school. Given that you guys are back to commiebaiting and censoring US history from kindertarten to higher ed., what would be the point?

A Georgia elementary school removes assignment instructing students to write a letter as 'an American settler' to Andrew Jackson in favor of removing Indigenous people from their land - Insider
Jennifer Martin, a parent in Virginia, told Insider that she shared the assignment from a public charter school called the Georgia Cyber Academy after seeing someone post it in a private group among parents. She saw the prompt as an example of how the movement against critical race theory is "prioritizing the feelings of settlers and colonizers as more important than actual, real history."

"If this sort of content could happen at a state-funded Georgia charter school, it could easily happen in any public school, and I think people should be aware of how quickly we're devolving into this kind of atmosphere in American schools," Martin said. "The truth of American history, and what happened to indigenous peoples and enslaved Africans and other people of color, shouldn't be whitewashed."
But white is right, tho.
A spokesperson for Georgia Cyber Academy told Insider that the assignment has since been removed after school leadership "concluded this is not an appropriate question to be used in our classrooms."
Interesting, how we don't see nonwhite parents running to school board meetings, threatening school board members, threatening teachers, because of an incredibly offensive test question.

Merely questioning this test question is now "critical race theory" to you geniuses, but then, this is what happens when you don't read any actual critical race theory. You're unable to recognize it when you see it, even when actual critical race theory is right under your noses.

Youngkin’s tell-on-a-teacher tip line drew jokes, but behind the laughter is a serious concern - WP, opinion
Asking parents and students to police their schools for ‘divisive practices’ could cost Virginia quality educators
And that is part of the goal of these anti-intellect conservatives, the depleting and further defunding of public education.
Attorney Qasim Rashid told people what “NOT” to do and then shared the creative ways they were doing it.

“GOP VA Governor just set up a tip line to report schools & teachers who teach about racism,” he tweeted. “Whatever you do, don't make a mockery of this with fake tips. That would be a terrible thing to do. RT so everyone knows NOT to send fake tips.”

He then followed that up by highlighting some of the emails that had been sent:

“I have heard reports that schools in Virginia are teaching ARABIC NUMERALS!!! I fear that we’ve become so focused on exposing Critical Race Theory in public education that we’ve forgotten all about creeping Sharia Law. Please address this matter immediately.”

“ALBUS DUMBELDOR WAS TEACHING THAT FULL BLOODED WIZARDS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST MUDBLOODS! FIRE HIM IMMEDIATELY!”

“My teenage son came home from school and told me his teachers are attempting to teach him! I’m outraged and find this completely unacceptable. Who do these teachers think they are? … This madness must stop!”
During an interview with conservative radio host John Fredericks on Monday, Youngkin mentioned the email address and described it as a place for parents to report “where they feel that their fundamental rights are being violated, where their children are not being respected, where there are inherently divisive practices in their schools.”

But he didn’t stop there. He spoke of what would come of those complaints.

“We’re going to make sure we catalogue it all,” he said. ” … And that gives us further, further ability to make sure we’re rooting it out.”

As experts have explained repeatedly, critical race theory is not taught to K-12 students. It is a college-level academic concept that addresses how racism has shaped public policy and the legal system. But when CRT is defined more broadly, as Youngkin and other lawmakers have chosen to do, the picture grows blurrier.

“Inherently divisive concepts, like Critical Race Theory and its progeny, instruct students to only view life through the lens of race and presumes that some students are consciously or unconsciously racist, sexist, or oppressive, and that other students are victims,” reads his executive order that bans its teaching.

What that means in schools is unclear. I recently wrote about a Virginia high school student who found a way to get more women of color into history lessons. While working alongside educators, she wrote mini books about Native American women for young readers and researched the roles of Black women during the Civil War to add to the materials made available for sixth-grade history lessons. Will the CRT ban keep that work from reaching other students? The answer should be a resounding no. But when teachers have to worry about being reported by students for their lesson plans the answer is at best uncertain.
Conservative smaller, limited, lighter government at its finest.

Re: The Critical Race Theory/so-called Cancel Culture Thread

Post by carmenjonze »

This article needs a more accurate headline, since it's really about conservative white Evangelicalism.

Woke war: How social justice and CRT became heresy for evangelicals - RNS

And they're not the only people "social justice" and "CRT" became heresy for. Plenty of so-called moderates fall into this category, too, including many seculars.
The political ‘woke war’ has spilled over into churches — a trend that will likely continue.

Using traditional media and on Twitter, Strachan, a seminary professor in Conway, Arkansas, has become a leading evangelical Christian voice in the “woke wars” that have been turning school boards, television screens and church pews into political battlefields. In conservative circles “wokeness,” a term invented by Black activists to refer to social injustice awareness, is now shorthand for “liberals ruining America.”
Also missing from this article: "Black activists" ditched this term probably 5 years ago. The way things work in this country is that everybody else happens up on Black speech and claims it for the own, years and years after it's fallen out of fashion with us.

Anyway.
In “Christianity and Wokeness: How the Social Justice Movement Is Hijacking the Gospel — and the Way to Stop It,“ a book Strachan published last year, he recommended excommunication for those who “do not repent of teaching CRT, wokeness, and intersectionality.”

Since at least the George Floyd summer of marches and demonstrations against police killings of unarmed Black men, evangelical leaders have been echoing the broader alarm heard in last fall’s political campaigns about the divisions they say that wokeness, critical race theory and other social justice ideas visit on American society.

But the threat to conservative Christians, these leaders say, cuts deeper: Wokeness and its underlying theories deny evangelical theology,
White-evangelical theology...
which holds that personal sin leads to evil and that repentance and acceptance of Jesus’ grace is the way out.

In an interview with Religion News Service, Strachan explained further that wokeness undermines the unity of churches by emphasizing racial and ethnic differences. The gospel, he said, erases such distinctions,
Tell that to the white Evangelicals of the 1700s-1900s who segregated their worship services on the basis of race, ethnicity, and skin color...

Image
while wokeness pits people against each other.
 Brah. White conservative laws and policies and white supremacism is what pits people against each other. Victimizer blames victim for their victimization, then plays victim.

This guy must be related to Glennfs and JoeMemphis.
“When you embrace a system like critical race theory
Which he's never read...
or intersectionality
Which he's also never read...you can tell from idiotic statements like this:
that teaches you that people who are in the majority basically are in the wrong — so, for example, that white people by virtue of being part of the white power bloc have privilege, have responsibility, honestly, when we’re not speaking politely, have complicity in oppression — that warps the gospel,” he said.
Conservative whites like this guy are so steeped in white-supremacist paranoia that the best they can do is hide behind irrational theologies to lash out at anyone who criticizes his dirty, destructive way of life.

These conservative whites, especially white Evangelicals, would never feel the need for this level of defensiveness if their histories were not in fact built on utilizing big government to repress everyone who doesn't wish to live like them, and all the totally transparent theological rationalizations that come with it.

F. these people.
