I'm sad to hear of her passing. I first recognized her in Close Encounters of the Third Kind and then started seeing her in other movies like A Christmas Story and Harry and the Hendersons. She always seemed like a warm, caring person.ap215 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 8:04 pm Melinda Dillon, Actress in ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ and ‘A Christmas Story,’ Dies at 83

I don’t come here much when I see a new post, because most of them you post are of people I’ve never heard of. I mean, okay, you could call her a person of note, but I don’t think her grandfather is.

Re: Persons of Note Who Have Passed Away
I agree with you. Most of the people whose death are posted are either celebrities, minor celebrities, or somewhat well-known. The death of a grandfather of someone I've or most people never heard of isn't news and does nothing to keep us informed.gounion wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 12:19 pm Dude, c’mon, shouldn’t there be a level below which doesn’t make it here? Re: Persons of Note Who Have Passed Away
I know you mean well, and sorry to hear of your own loss. Of course, personal losses can always be discussed in the personal forum. My wife’s mother passed from dementia a few years ago, which was quite tough on her, as she worked as a caregiver for quite a while to her. I don’t know if there’s a disease more horrible than that.ap215 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 7:03 pm My bad Gou I just posted it because i personally feel bad for anyone in this world who loses a certain loved one i have been there myself i get what you're saying plus i also had my own personal loss as my brother in law's father passed last Saturday from Dementia.
Just remember that, and this is just my view, it should be for people of some national, not regional fame. Otherwise it’s too cluttered. I had at one point suggested to do new threads for each year, because this threads too damned long anyway, but that didn’t happen, and that was just an idea.
