Remains of 17 French WWI soldiers buried at Gallipoli

CANAKKALE, Turkey (AP) — The remains of 17 missing French soldiers who fought in the World War I Battle of Gallipoli were on Sunday handed over to French military officials and put to rest alongside other fallen comrades more than a century after their deaths.

The remains were found during restoration work on a castle and surrounding areas on Turkey’s northwestern Canakkale Peninsula, where Allied forces fought against Ottoman Turks in the ill-fated Gallipoli campaign that started with landings on the peninsula on April 25, 1915.

God Gallipoli, what a fuck story that. Damn Churchill and his "Soft Underbelly" of Europe. Thousands of Soliers died in useless and fruitless battle.

Maybe these Brave Frenchmen rest in peace, they have earned it.

Mental illness in our country still has a huge stigma attached to it. When in fact it is no different than having diabetes.
To many people believe that if you are experiencing mental problems all.you need do is toughen up.
Again I urge everyone to give Patrick Kennedy's book a look

Since you bring it up ... well, it's interesting.

Yes, I agree, mental illness is a big problem in our society, and I knew that before Patrick Kennedy wrote his book (though it's good).

But since you bring it up, it's not "like diabetes" (though we could talk about the cost of insulin), as many kinds of mental health care are not fully covered by most peoples' health insurance.

Or weren't, until that evil liberal initiative known as Obamacare actually required all insurers to cover it.

Even still ... there are gaps in coverage.

The thing that surprised me about Kennedy's book was his dad Ted had the same opinion as my dad about mental illness.
Basically you just have to toughen up. My mom had dementia and denied it till her dying day. Because it is a brain ailment. Now if she had cancer she probably would have been marching up and down her street with a banner.
Now my dad was born in 27 my mom in 29. Sad how today people still have those same attitudes

Kathy Boudin, radical leftist, educator and mother of Chesa Boudin, dies at 78

Kathy Boudin, a radical leftist convicted in the fatal Brink's robbery who went on to help former inmates, and the mother of San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin, died Sunday afternoon at her home in New York, according to a statement from the district attorney's office, and reports from the San Francisco Chronicle and other news outlets. She was 78 years old.

Chesa Boudin told the Chronicle, which was first to report the news, that his mother had been battling with cancer for seven years. (SFGATE and the San Francisco Chronicle are both owned by Hearst but operate independently of one another.) He said he took a red-eye flight to New York to say goodbye and to see her one last time, describing her nature as “unshakably optimistic and courageous.”
