Jack Feldman, Holocaust survivor who told his story in Emmy-winning documentary, dies at 95

(JTA) — In 2016, Jack Feldman’s 10-year-old great-grandson asked him about the number tattooed on his skin. Their conversation became the basis of the short HBO documentary “The Number on Great-Grandpa’s Arm,” an introduction to the Holocaust intended for children.

Veteran documentary filmmaker Amy Schatz was attracted to the project because, she said at the time, there was hardly any material on the Holocaust suitable for children and their families. Her goal was to transmit the survivor’s experience “gently and with clarity.”

That's a big one around here for a variety of reasons relating to old business connections. 2021 is about very little else, just death, death, death all the time. In the news, and every time the phone rings, and I've thought about my own altogether too much for a variety of very depressing reasons. It's why I consider it the worst year of my life.

At least she was 99. I considered her as a trouper in the old sense of the word, and that always impressed me. She came up through the old star system, and learned all the drills. One of the greats.

Awful lot gone this year.

In some el cheapo horror movie Ms. White played true to form, she a bit of a potty mouth off camera.

I remember watching Ms. White on game shows in 1950's and 1960's. I think she was married Alan Lunden of "Password".

It was her husband's line, but she loved him and never stopped all these years after his passing.
