McDonald’s CEO fired after affairs with workers fined $400K by SEC
The Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday charged former McDonald’s Chief Executive Stephen Easterbrook with making false and misleading statements to investors about the circumstances of his 2019 termination.

The SEC hit Easterbrook with a five-year officer and director bar and a $400,000 civil penalty.

McDonald’s fired Easterbrook in November 2019 for exercising “poor judgment” by engaging in a relationship with a McDonald’s employee, the SEC said.

But Easterbrook failed to disclose other additional violations of company policy he committed by engaging in undisclosed relationships with other employees of the fast-food giant, it said.

California National Guard general fired for using troops to carry out personal errands.
The California National Guard fired a top commander after reports he used troops to carry out personal errands and put an F-15C fighter jet on standby in an order that raised concerns it would be used to frighten civilian protesters.

Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Magram is set to be "involuntarily transferred" this week to the U.S. Air Force retired reserve, which a California National Guard spokesperson said is "parallel" to a firing, according to a Military.com report Saturday.

Another probe into Magram's conduct found that the general inappropriately used subordinates to carry out personal tasks, including an instance in which he had an on-duty Guard member drive him on a nearly 120-mile round trip to a dental appointment.

In another incident, Magram had a Guard member take his mother on a shopping trip, with the member saying, "she was particular. When I say particular, it had to be at Whole Foods. … It just took her a long time to decide what she wanted, a lot of comparison shopping amongst products."

I guess General Magram forgot the Air Force Core Values of "Integrity First, Service before Self, Excellence in All We Do."

C’mon, Glen.

Tell us EXACTLY what socialism and democratic socialism are.

Because you don’t have one goddamn clue what they are.

WWE releases NXT Level Up announcer Sudu Shah

Unless you follow WWE’s Friday night streaming show Level Up, you may not know Sudu Shah. He’s been calling the action on NXT’s B-show since January of last year, back when it used to be called 205 Live even though it had been a long time since it focused on cruiserweights.

It’s only been a year, but Shah’s time in WWE spans that change to the show he worked on, October’s big announcer shake-up, and a few rounds of releases from the developmental ranks. But he announced this morning (Jan. 11) that last night’s NXT taping was his last day at WWE.

Party City files for bankruptcy with plans to restructure mounting debt

Retailer Party City has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in a bid to restructure its heavy debt load and keep its doors open after supply chain woes, rising inflation and a consumer slowdown took a chunk out of sales.

The longtime retailer, best known for its Halloween costumes and party decorations, has been saddled by historic inflation and a shrinking market cap. It decided to move forward with bankruptcy in November after financial advisors determined it was the best way to save the business, the retailer wrote in a Wednesday court filing.

New York Senate panel rejects Hochul’s pick for top judge

The New York Senate Judiciary Committee rejected Gov. Kathy Hochul’s (D) choice for the state’s chief judge Wednesday, demonstrating a split among Democrats in the state.

The committee, which is made up of 19 state senators, narrowly voted against advancing Justice Hector D. LaSalle, who was nominated by Hochul in December to be the chief judge of New York’s Court of Appeals. The committee voted 10-9 against moving LaSalle, who faces criticism from the left over his judicial record, to the full Senate.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern stepping down; will not contest general elections
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Thursday she is stepping down as New Zealand’s leader and will not contest this year’s general elections.

Fighting back tears, Ardern told reporters in Napier that Feb. 7 will be her last day in office.

“I am not leaving because it was hard. Had that been the case I probably would have departed two months into the job. I am leaving because with such a privileged role, comes responsibility, the responsibility to know when you are the right person to lead, and also, when you are not. I know what this job takes, and I know that I no longer have enough in the tank to do it justice. It is that simple,” she said......

I can't begin to tell you how honored and blessed I feel by skipping the Faux channel in LA. It's getting to where I have to hold my hand up to my eye when driving past the lot, because the dumb shows advertised on the 30 foot billboards keep getting dumber.

There's your reason that members of Congress keep ranting about Jewish Space Lasers and shutting down the government and encouraging death threats and getting away with it. The brainwashed vote them in, and Faux is a key part of this effort.

Twitter Officially Bans All Third-Party Apps

Twitter today confirmed that it is no longer permitting third-party developers to create Twitter clients, with the information quietly shared in an updated developer agreement that was spotted by Engadget. A new clause under Restrictions says that developers are not able to "create a substitute or similar service or product to the Twitter Applications."

This wording effectively bans all third-party apps such as Tweetbot, Twitterrific, Aviary, Echofon, Birdie, and others, and makes it clear that third-party Twitter apps are not going to come back at this time.

US ‘cult’ leader given 60 years in prison for sexual and emotional abuse

A financial fraudster who lured students at an elite New York liberal arts college into a cult-like world of sexual, physical and emotional abuse was sentenced on Friday to 60 years in federal prison.

Larry Ray, born Lawrence Grecco, was found guilty in April of sex trafficking and racketeering, among other related charges, stemming from the psychological manipulation – and ensuing physical violence – against his daughter’s roommates at Sarah Lawrence College.
