Republican NC elections board member Bob Rucho resigns as Berger-Page race remains undecided

Bob Rucho, a Republican member of the State Board of Elections, is stepping down from that role in part over recent contributions made to two sheriff candidates who are running for reelection this year, state officials said Thursday.

State Auditor Dave Boliek, who oversees state elections, “talked to Rucho and resignation was mutually agreed on,” Randy Brechbiel, a spokesman for the auditor, said Thursday in a text message.

'I'm done': MAGA actor James Woods says he's no longer a Republican

Far-right actor James Woods announced on X Friday that he is leaving the Republican Party — because Republicans in Congress aren't willing to be aggressive enough in support of President Donald Trump and his conspiracy theories.

The catalyst for Woods' anger appears to be a far-right account that posted a video from Lindell TV of Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) complaining that the House GOP refused to sign on to her subpoena to pursue racist conspiracy theories against Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

Just three months after declaring “I’m not quitting,” California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa announced Friday he is retiring instead of facing a difficult reelection campaign in a redrawn district.

County Supervisor Jim Desmond, a right-wing MAGA loving Trumpster, will run for Issa's seat. There are a couple of well-known Democrats who'll run including Issa's last opponent who stands a good chance of winning.

The president of Florida International University’s Turning Point USA chapter has resigned after a series of racist, antisemitic and homophobic group chat messages were leaked.

According to The Miami Herald, which obtained and published two and a half weeks’ worth of WhatsApp logs dating from September and October 2025, participants in the TPUSA group used the N-word more than 400 times and issued a string of slurs against Black, Jewish, gay, and disabled people, also referring to women as “whores” and invoking Nazi lore.

Can't say I'll miss any of their programming. What I miss is the whole damn entertainment industry. First it was bought up by blood sucking conglomerates, then it got too stupid to live.

Tony Dungy Confirms the Worst, Drops Explosive Truth Bomb on NBC’s ‘Sunday Night Football’

All good things must come to an end, and that is what happened to Tony Dungy. He was a staple analyst on NBC’s Football Night in America for 17 seasons, joining the network in 2009. It all ended last month, when reports indicated he had been removed from his regular role as part of a major revamp of the pregame show.

The Athletic’s Andrew Marchan reported that the network was planning to “revamp” its signature pregame show before Sunday Night Football. Marchand added that Dungy was “likely out” as a regular on the show.

NASCAR was put on Earth by a divine power to be the direct opposite of F1.

Both F1 and NASCAR used to actually live up to their images. F1 really was by and for European aristocrats, and NASCAR really was by and for southern rural moonshiners who had started out by racing the hot rod delivery cars they'd modified to evade cops and ATF agents. They're both more like other sports now, but the roots are still there.

Bark River Knives, of Michigan, makes and sells American-made knives. Now, it's closing its business because they've used Chinese steel in some of their knives and labeled them as being American-made.
Bark River Knives, a well-known knifemaker based in Escanaba, Michigan, has shuttered its business in the wake of revelations regarding the steel used in some of its blades. The fixed-blade knife manufacturer has now admitted to using Chinese steel in several of its models, even though the knives were labeled and marketed as CPM 154 steel and made in the USA.
https://www.yahoo.com/finance/markets/s ... 12137.html
Here's the problem he had. If he had been honest and said which knives were made with Chinese steel he would probably still be in business. Most Americans wouldn't care where the steel came from but would be more concerned about the quality of the knives instead. More than likely, the quality of the knives wouldn't have change.

Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show MC apologises to BTS for ‘racist’ joke at recording

Comedian Seth Herzog has reportedly apologised after making a joke during a pre-recording of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

TMZ reports that the warm-up host, 55, asked the audience during Wednesday's (25 March) taping: “Anybody here from the North? No? Nobody?" during a segment asking people where they came from.

The problem seems to be that BTS is a Korean hip-hop band made up of teenage and/or pre-teen Koreans. Fallon asked the audience, "Anyone here from the North?" Apparently that has a hidden meaning when you're dealing with Koreans.

Since I lost all interest in current pop music when hip-hop swept everything before it and then lasted longer than hard rock did, I had to look it up online to find out what all the fuss was about.

CBS cancels show starring 2 Saturday Night Live alumni

CBS is just not a good place for late-night TV stars right now. The network has finalized its scripted lineup for the 2026–2027 season, and one comedy series starring two Saturday Night Live alumni didn’t make the cut.

CBS announced it axed DMV, the single-camera workplace comedy centered on the everyday chaos of a Department of Motor Vehicles office. The show featured an ensemble cast that included former Saturday Night Live cast members Tim Meadows and Molly Kearney. The series also featured a guest appearance from former SNL standout Leslie Jones in one episode.

We don't need the CBS/NBC/ABC triumvirate any more. There are two possible alternatives, both of which involve the increased use of Internet for content delivery. This is a brave new world.

CBS, in particular seems to have been taken over by well-heeled and well-connected oligarchs who wish to destroy it to save it.

Golden Knights Fire Bruce Cassidy, Name John Tortorella Head Coach

A massive storyline has emerged this afternoon as the Vegas Golden Knights have fired Bruce Cassidy and named John Tortorella their new head coach in an announcement from the team.

Currently third in the Pacific Division with more than an 80% chance to make the playoffs per Moneypuck, Vegas’ decision to part ways with the franchise’s most accomplished coach, in late March no less, comes as a shock. With just eight games remaining in the regular season, the group will now be led by Tortorella, who last coached with the Flyers until being fired 367 days ago.

Polymarket apologizes for allowing wagers on fate of U.S. pilots downed in Iran

Prediction market platform Polymarket issued an apology for allowing users to place bets on the fate of American pilots aboard a U.S. fighter jet downed over Iran.

A two-seater F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down on Friday, according to a U.S. official. One crew member was rescued, but the other remains missing.

In a since-deleted market, users were able to wager on when the pilots might be rescued, with the majority predicting a Saturday rescue.
