It's paywalled. Are you able to read it? I can't, as I fully admit I have no WSJ sub.

However, I can see the headline & URL.
Please pay attention: that article is touting the IG report that claimed to refute Rebekah Jones' claims about the state dashboard. We can get into it. I agree Jones may have made some incorrect statements.

It does NOT have to do with the Auditor General's report referenced above.

Glenn, please get this as you keep posting the same story:
Rebekah Jones may have been wrong, I'd comb through the IG report on her if I was terribly interested, but I'm not.
That has nothing to do with the Auditor General's report. His office is nonpartisan and part of the state bureaucracy, and has nothing to do with Rebekah Jones (who admittedly at this point is also a political candidate.)

Repeating this very simple sentence in the post you just replied to:

This press release by this dirty WS relies on propaganda by National Review.

You didn't even read the press release, because if you had, you'd notice that at least these dumb fascists have the integrity to cite their source.

Glenn, JESUS FUCKING CHRIST ON A FUCKING POGO STICK.

Are you really this thick?

"Rebekah Jones was wrong" != "Florida's Auditor General was wrong." These stories you keep posting have to do with Rebekah Jones, NOT the state's own internal audit. BY ITS AUDITOR GENERAL. A nonpartisan administrative official - just like the IG.

Try learning the BASICS of how to prove a point using sources on the internet.

Running to Google with random search terms, then copy/pasting the first few things you're hunting and pecking for, isn't a good way to do it.

Your current credibility dilemma is what results when you've got something to prove but have no clue how to prove it.

Slow down, take a few deep breaths, and try again. Next time, try starting with something other than a press release that relies on a paywalled National Review piece. :problem:

OK ... let's go through this slowly.

Rebekah Jones alleged the state was presenting incorrect information on its state dashboard (so after she was fired she set up her own). She made allegations several state officials were deliberately manipulating & falsifying the data there. The state IG released a report saying those allegations were unwarranted. Were I more interested, I'd dive into how true that report is, but I'm not. However, it's an unrelated matter.

That does not in any way deal with the claims made by the state's Auditor General, which have to do with mishandling deaths and other data, not related to the state dashboard or Jones' allegations.

Glenn, Rebekah Jones is not the State of Florida's Auditor General.

This is: Sherill F. Norman, CPA
https://flauditor.gov

She is a different person. :D Her report was not based on Jones' allegations.

So an IG report saying Jones was wrong - which we could debate, but is a separate topic - has nothing to do with Norman's report.

Hmmm. Maybe if I explain this in Esperanto?

We can debate Rebekah Jones' credibility. However, what really bugs me is she is not the sole "whistleblower" here. And again, the IG Report only deals with Jones' accusations - not those coming from other quarters.

Gov. Ron DeSantis Doesn’t Always Tell the Full COVID Story
Health experts say that some of the statements the Florida governor makes about COVID-19 and its vaccines are, sometimes, entirely incorrect, which contributes to the growing number of COVID infections and deaths.
https://www.governing.com/now/gov-ron-d ... ovid-story

[snip]

Kenneth Goodman, a bioethicist and director of the Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy at the University of Miami, criticized the “kooky views acquiring broad currency” among state leadership. But he agreed with Stipanovich that the ultimate motive is political.

“There are times when it serves a political interest to engender doubt,” he said. “And there’s a subset of politicians who have tried really hard to spread doubt about scientific knowledge in the context of COVID.”

Goodman said the changing circumstances of the virus and its mutations, and the continuing search for information about the virus and its mitigation, have been “weaponized in the interests of undermining.”

“When the experts have been mistaken, they’re criticized for not having been infallible, even though it’s a probabilistic science with a brand new virus and there’s really exciting, important science moving forward quickly,” he said. “ ... It’s been weaponized in the interest of advancing what I think most ordinary Americans regard as a sad and silly political agenda.”

“We used to call it a credibility gap,” Goodman said of politicians’ untrustworthiness. “Now, the problem is there are actually dead people as a result of it.”

[snip][end]

I don't know if DePutin and other officials ordered Jones to change data on the state's dashboard. The IG Report says no, maybe she was wrong or misunderstood what was being requested of her. Personally, I would say even if she's a stalker, at least unlike Matt Gaetz she's not an underage trafficker. But I can't vote for or against her, don't live in that district.

However, as this article notes, one thing I can say with certainty: I agree with Goodman -- DePutin has been fudging a variety of claims regarding the virus following his best higher political ambition rather than best scientific understanding or what's best for Floridians, and THAT HAS cost lives.

IG Report also does not deal with this, either.

University of Florida researchers pressured to destroy COVID-19 data, told not to criticize DeSantis: report
https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watc ... d-19-data/

Researchers at the University of Florida allegedly felt pressured to delete COVID-19 data while working on a study for an undisclosed state entity, according to a report released on Monday by the Faculty Senate committee.

The report stated that staff felt “external pressure to destroy” data and “barriers to accessing and analyzing” data in a timely manner.

The document added that staff said there were “barriers to publication of scientific research which inhibited the ability of faculty to contribute scientific findings during a world-wide pandemic.”

Other challenges reported to the committee included “palpable reticence and even fear on the part of faculty to speak up on these issues.” In addition, faculty “often engaged in self-censorship and chose not to ‘rock the boat’ for fear of retaliation,” according to the report.

University of Florida employees were reportedly told “not to criticize the Governor of Florida [Republican Ron DeSantis] or UF policies related to COVID-19 in media interactions.”

[snip]

A fourth University of Florida professor alleged in November that the school rejected his request to testify against state leaders and provide his expertise on the impact of COVID-19 on children.

Jeffrey L. Goldhagen, a University of Florida professor and pediatrician, was asked to testify against DeSantis, the Florida commissioner of education, the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Board of Education for a case in which Florida parents and children sought to overturn the state’s ban on mask mandates in schools.
