SoCal Edison lines blamed for Eaton Fire

Post by ZoWie »

A new report following a long investigation has concluded that the fire that destroyed much of Altadena a year and a half ago was definitely caused by arcing high voltage transmission lines in a canyon during a catastrophic wind event.

“Video evidence collected by the Eaton Fire Investigation team revealed two electrical arcing events that occurred in quick succession, leading to an unknown burning material falling from the SCE tower’s location into the dry receptive fuel bed below,” the report said.

“The fuel bed ignited approximately twelve seconds after the burning material was seen falling from the arcing event. The Eaton Fire rapidly developed into a conflagration engulfing the areas of the San Gabriel Mountains, Altadena, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, and La Cañada Flintridge. It was fully contained 24 days later, on Jan. 31, 2025.”
The even worse Palisades Fire on the same date is still under investigation. An arson suspect is awaiting trial, but nothing is for sure except that most of Pacific Palisades is still gone. Meanwhile, the climate change that doesn't exist is creating a much hotter summer in LA than normal.
