McConnell gave an interview. He says he fell and lost consciousness, but that he's getting better.
The current spin, as reinforced by a recent AP report, is that he's just old, and that's how it is with old folks. Unfortunately for him, that does not help his image. It comes out sounding like an argument for early retirement.
