There's something to that. The Faux audience is disaffected and very conscious of being a movement. It's due to years of being propagandized about the usual American boogymen, and everybody else missed the train, no matter how much they now spend to catch up.

---

Glenn, you're starting to understand media. The power though is illusory, because it's really just opinion leading gussied up with a lot of academic jargon, and anyone with the will and the cash can get it right. It's the cash thing that's the problem. 18 year old "influencers" get wined and dined just for a mention on their blog. It's how publicity rolls now, and marketing is catching up fast. Media is basically the New Golden Rule. The cat with the gold makes the rules.

I personally tried to drag people kicking and screaming to support an alternative to the billionaire/CNN/Faux/Turner (at the time) monopoly and you see where it got me. Banging on a computer sending ASCII to nowhere.

Without the internet Trump never runs for office. If he did he would do no better than that Ross Perot. In today's world Perot probably becomes president.

People and movements which would have been considered fringe then now have power.

Prior to the internet we had CNN which had a slight bias at worse.
Today's Fox all democrats are evil News and MSNBC all Republicans are evil have replaced boring CNN and Larry King live.

I don't know where if or how it all ends.
I understand what you are saying but we really have no one to blame but ourselves. It’s not the internet. It’s not really foreign meddling. It’s us. We choose to believe the worst in our fellow countrymen. That’s on us. We aren’t at war with each other. At least not yet. I’m no longer betting it won’t happen.

Does anyone believe that Harris can “unite” the country? “Turn the page”? Trump surely can’t and won’t. Harris can’t and won’t either. We choose “leaders” who choose to divide the country ideologically. It’s like a cliquish high school election for homecoming king or queen instead of electing the most qualified leader of the most powerful country in the world.

That is so true, I guess it is human nature. If someone asks about a trucking company and you answer a great place to work, few believe you.
If you answer one the worst places to work everyone believes you.

Harris will work across lines with sane and reasonable Republicans. Look at all of them that have endorsed her.

You’re just once again pulling the old false equivalency. Pretending Trump is just like every other candidate.

Joe has a core of truth here. We can differ on details, but he gets it. "Worst" gets ink and broadcast time and likes, uplift gets a big ho-hum. People don't want to be uplifted. Some want to rally around the loudest and scariest guy out there, others don't want anything to do with politics at all.

Donald Trump is a character. His role was created for a TV show, and let's just say that the actor understood the part and ran with it. Every director's dream. The Republican right couldn't believe their luck.

All he has to do is be himself, and suddenly US politics are a circus instead of a boring college lecture.

Bullshit, she isn't going to work across party lines and nobody is making an equivalency of her and Trump false or otherwise.

You want to watch a proper newscast then watch the PBS Newshour.

It’s easy to stream at anytime of the day. I watch the previous evening’s broadcast the following morning with my coffee and breakfast.

Monday and Friday have good dedicated politics segments

It’s good to be able to agree on things for a change. But imagine how difficult that becomes if I start out believing that you support communist and are a threat to the country or you believe I support facists and Nazis and are a threat to the country. The gap required to agree somewhere in the middle is a whole lot farther to span. Impossible in some cases. It’s Trump. But it’s also Harris, Clinton, Biden and Obama as well. Whether he dragged them into the sewer or they jumped in willingly makes no difference. They are all in the sewer now. The question is how do you get both sides to stop slinging shit at the other and work together in an environment where working across the aisle gets you primaried. All that does is get rid of moderates in favor of extremists.

It’s gonna take a hellava charismatic President with courage to bring this country together. That person isn’t in this race. No matter who wins we are still in for four more years of division.

More false equivalency.

Trump isn’t like anyone else. He’ll do things to our nation no one else would do.

You know, like lead an insurrection into our Capitol building.

If Haley can’t afford to stand for or against Trump, she can’t stand up to any of our adversaries. She’s an opportunist with no principles.

Hogan? He’s been anti-Trump this whole time, but now he brags about getting Trump’s endorsement.

He’ll lose the Senate campaign.

Best? She can't even decide whether Trump is a disaster for our country or great for our country.

It's only about her own ambitions. She'll say whatever it takes. She's for sale.

And that's not what you want in a President.

Trump did lead an insurrection into our Capitol building with the intent of a coup d'etat. Americans like to deny that it could happen here, but it not only could, but it did.

That should have disqualified him from office right there, but we don't do truth. We do spin and demographic appeal.

Musk can continue with election cash giveaways for now, judge rules

Elon Musk can continue to give away cash to registered voters - for now, a Pennsylvania state judge has said.

The Donald Trump supporter has, through his political group America PAC, been offering cash prizes to registered voters in swing states who sign a petition - something US officials suggest may break electoral law. Musk denies this.

Hearing set for Monday after judge returns challenge to Elon Musk’s giveaways to state court

A judge on Friday rejected Elon Musk’s attempt to move to federal court a lawsuit challenging his $1 million daily giveaways to registered voters in swing states, enabling a hearing to proceed before Election Day.

Musk’s attorneys have accused Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner (D) of attempting to rush a court-ordered stop to the giveaways. By trying to move courts, Musk halted a Thursday state court hearing at which his attendance was required.

the goal of the rich like elon and old man and their followers is to separate us all..division.
they dont want us all to 'come together' or then they would have a voting force that would knock
the rich fucks out.

they prefer 'the people' to be confused chaotic and controllable, which AI does quite well.

No, you’re the one that was called out when you falsely accused me of attacking our military. Number Six said you were full of shit, I did no such thing.

At any point during your jumping on the Nazi bandwagon about our space program, did you think “You know, maybe being pro-Nazi isn’t the smartest thing I ever did”???

So saying our military is a training ground for domestic terrorists is not putting down our military. Such is liberal logic.
