Re: The Supreme Court Thread
You know this sick shit he's parroting directly from Trump, well Donald Trump is an actual criminal and an adjudicated rapist. It's always projection.

Re: The Supreme Court Thread
It’s a state issue. Not federal. I voted to amend Ohio’s constitution to recognize the right. If you want a federal right you need an amendment.
It’s that simple
Re: The Supreme Court Thread
No, it's a human rights issue. The government shouldn't tell women what to do with their bodies. Period. They shouldn't be forcing women's deaths.Greengrass wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 1:48 pm It’s a state issue. Not federal. I voted to amend Ohio’s constitution to recognize the right. And I believe it's a constitutional right, and most people agree with me, not you. Idiot.

Some people agree with you. Definitely not most.
If you want it to be a constitutional right there needs to be an amendment.
Re: The Supreme Court Thread
Yah sorry but Roe was constitutional and the law of the land for decades. The problem is extremist bribe takers have been stacked to the SC who decided to make up their own rules.

If you want it to be a constitutional right there needs to be an amendment.
Especially in the states that have banned abortion.
Pew Research Center: https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/20 ... oe-v-wade/
A majority of Americans disapprove of the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark ruling overturning the Roe v. Wade decision, which had guaranteed a constitutional right to an abortion for nearly 50 years. Public support for legal abortion remains largely unchanged since before the decision, with 62% saying it should be legal in all or most cases.
Nearly six-in-ten adults (57%) disapprove of the court’s sweeping decision, including 43% who strongly disapprove. About four-in-ten (41%) approve of the court’s decision (25% strongly approve).

It’s a state issue. I agree, as I voted, that there should be a limited right. But that right must be either defined by the state. In order for it to be a federal right gonna need an amendment.gounion wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 2:04 pm Most people agree with me.

You lied - you said most people didn't agree with me. But keep dancing.Greengrass wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 2:07 pm It’s a state issue. I agree, as I voted, that there should be a limited right. You don't mind the dead women at all.
Re: The Supreme Court Thread
That's YOUR opinion, and most people don't agree with you.
It's the old "state's rights" argument - just like they used for Jim Crow to keep blacks from having rights. You recycle this to take women's rights away.
I'm of the view that the Constitution should be the one giving us human rights, that are inalienable. The right of a woman to make a decision for her own body should be inalienable.
I realize that YOU think the government should be in charge of her body, not her.
But then, you support the right of states to criminalize abortion and surveillance of women in a post-Dobbs world. https://www.brookings.edu/articles/the- ... bbs-world/

Re: The Supreme Court Thread
“ We end this opinion where we began. Abortion presents a profound moral question. The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives.”gounion wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 2:24 pm That's YOUR opinion, and most people don't agree with you.

My opinion and the Supreme Court’s.
I realize that the constitution needs to be properly followed and when necessary amended.

Re: The Supreme Court Thread
That’s why we have an amendment process.
Re: The Supreme Court Thread
You know the chances of ANY amendment being passed is non-existent, so this is all muddying the waters.
You've lied all along "Oh, most people don't agree with you". Proved that wrong!
You're all for taking women's rights away, in the old racist "state's rights" arguments.
You must be proud. Wonder if Humphrey would be proud of you too?

It’s far more complicated and nuanced than people agreeing with you.gounion wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 3:34 pm You know the chances of ANY amendment being passed is non-existent, so this is all muddying the waters.

But you don't mind that women die, do you?
I believe a woman should make her own decision.
I don't give a fuck what you say you voted for - you're for the women dying in states that won't let women make their own fucking decisions.

Just like you don't mind it when illegal aliens commit crimes especially rape and murder.

Re: The Supreme Court Thread
I guess you think it’s okay when it’s US citizens that commit crimes especially rape and murder, which they do at a larger rate than immigrants.
The is the same argument the right has used against blacks for decades.
Re: The Supreme Court Thread
I knew you would defend the crimes. So you are OK with it as long as the rate is less than people born here.
Got it
My point was no you aren't OK with it anymore than people are OK with the deaths you mentioned.
" I am a socialist " Bernie Sanders
Re: The Supreme Court Thread
You guys on the right keep saying the same racist shit - just about different people of color.
I’m concerned about all crimes and deaths. You just want to use them to target people of color.
And crime is down nationwide.
Re: The Supreme Court Thread
When in doubt cry racism at least you didn't scream Trump this time

Re: The Supreme Court Thread
You're the one making the racist arguments.
I'm just pointing it out.
And you don't like getting called out about it.
Again, this is the very same argument used against blacks for decades. "They're all murderous animals!"
Re: The Supreme Court Thread
This is straight of Trump’s fascist, racist mouth. Trump, the leader of the Republican Party who is an actual rapist and a convicted felon.
