The Supreme Court Thread
The Supreme Court Thread
Since The Supreme Court is the final arbiter for all court rulings & i personally don't trust this current court let's put everything in one thread.
U.S. Supreme Court says Texas can’t block federal agents from the border
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ordered Texas to allow federal border agents access to the state’s border with Mexico, where Texas officials have deployed miles of concertina wire.
The order did not explain justices’ decisions. For now, it effectively upholds longstanding court rulings that the Constitution gives the federal government sole responsibility for border security.

US Supreme Court won't overrule judges' order to redraw Detroit legislative seats
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected a request from Michigan's redistricting commission to overrule an order to redraw 13 Detroit-area seats in the Legislature, a decision that will likely make the legislative maps more competitive.
The redistricting commission had asked the high court to overrule a December ruling by a three-judge federal appeals court panel that Michigan's legislative maps were illegally influenced by race when drawn in 2021. The panel ruled that although nearly 80% of Detroit residents are Black, the Black voting age population in the 13 Detroit-area districts mostly ranges from 35% to 45%, with one being as low as 19%.

Supreme Court allows sanctions against Trump-allied lawyers over 2020 election lawsuit
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected appeals brought by Trump-allied lawyers who faced legal sanctions for baselessly alleging in court that the 2020 election in Michigan was fraudulently won by President Joe Biden.
By rejecting the appeals, the court left in place a June 2023 ruling by the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that partially upheld the sanctions.

The Supreme Court effectively abolishes the right to mass protest in three US states
The Supreme Court announced on Monday that it will not hear Mckesson v. Doe. The decision not to hear Mckesson leaves in place a lower court decision that effectively eliminated the right to organize a mass protest in the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
Under that lower court decision, a protest organizer faces potentially ruinous financial consequences if a single attendee at a mass protest commits an illegal act.

Supreme Court snubs House Republicans who dodged metal detectors in Congress after Jan. 6
What happens in Congress stays in Congress, the Supreme Court signaled on Monday, as it turned away an appeal by three Republican congressmen who were fined $5,000 each by the House for dodging security scanners installed after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
The court’s decision comes months after justices snubbed the case of three other GOP members of Congress who had their pay docked in 2021 for flouting a mask mandate on the House floor during the COVID pandemic.

Glenn doesn't understand. It is fundamental Republican policy that every fertilized egg is a moral and sentient being with a God-given right to survive. They get a lot of money from people who think that.
It is also fundamental Republican policy that as soon as the baby comes out and the cord gets cut, you're on your own, kid. Babies and welfare mamas don't contribute to Republicans.

Republicans must go bonkers when they see those specimens of the human embryo on display in museums. That's a moral and sentient being, oops I mean a potential major donor, in there, you know.

You do not oppose the democratic party proposal which will permit an abortion for any reason up to the moment of birth.
In fact you deny it even exists.
Sidebar you asked me not to refer to you as a baby killer. Even though I never did. But I did lighten my rhetoric on the subject.
Now you post this which is just another lie. I never called you or anyone here a baby killer. I did make references to your party being the party of infanticide.

It is true that in our Declaration of Independence it states life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
While it is also true that most Americans do support abortion rights to one degree or another. However those demagogues who are supporting a 100pct ban along with the demagogues who are supporting no limit abortion up to birth are playing up to the 30pct fringe in both parties.
It is shameful that the republicans are supporting such stringent laws. But, it is equally shameful that the democratic party is trying to achieve power on the corpse of dead babies.

Supreme Court waves off Kari Lake lawsuit over electronic voting machines
(CNN) — The Supreme Court brushed aside a lawsuit Monday from Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake challenging the use of electronic voting machines in Arizona.
Lake, who filed the lawsuit during her failed campaign for governor in 2022, challenged whether the state’s electronic voting machines assured “a fair and accurate vote.” Two lower courts dismissed the suit, finding that Lake and former Republican state

Supreme Court rejects challenge to vote-by-mail restrictions in Texas
WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a challenge to voting rules in Texas that automatically let senior citizens − but not younger people − vote by mail.
Mail-in balloting has become a partisan debate as Democrats champion it as a way to increase turnout and Republicans argue it increases the risk of voter fraud.

Supreme Court orders Louisiana to use congressional map with additional Black district in 2024 vote
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered Louisiana to hold congressional elections in 2024 using a House map with a second mostly Black district, despite a lower-court ruling that called the map an illegal racial gerrymander.
The order allows the use of a map that has majority Black populations in two of the state’s six congressional districts, potentially boosting Democrats’ chances of gaining control of the closely divided House of Representatives in the 2024 elections.

Supreme Court sides with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, spurning a conservative attack
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected a conservative-led attack that could have undermined the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The justices ruled 7-2 that the way the CFPB is funded does not violate the Constitution, reversing a lower court and drawing praises from consumers. Justice Clarence Thomas wrote the majority opinion, splitting with his frequent allies, Justices Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch, who dissented.

There you go again, making yourself the victim. You made an obviously false and provoking comment and when someone accurately calls you out for it you play the victim. Your only a victim because your ancestors swam in the shallow end of the gene pool.

The only reason it is provoking is because it is true. The main argument from democrats is that no doctor would perform an abortion on a viable unborn baby in the late months. Well that is simply an opinion and if true then why didn't they include such limits in their proposal?
BTW we are now 0 and 4. As this shallow ender produced both a doctor and a nurse
