GOP-controlled election board in Georgia passes rule that could further delay certification

(CNN) — The Georgia State Election Board passed a rule Monday giving local election officials additional power to investigate ballot counts before certifying the results, a move critics say could inject chaos into the 2024 election and delay the state’s official vote count.

The “Rule for Reconciliation Prior to Certification” will allow for a hand recount of votes to ensure “the total number of ballots cast” does not exceed “the total number of persons who voted,” according to the language of the rule.

As if FORMER PRESIDENT 666 hasn't done enough, there is now this: rawstory.com/trump-netanyahu-loganact/ The former president is speaking behind the scenes to Israeli PM Netanyahu trying to torpedo cease fire agreements because, in his words, it would help the Harris campaign. This may be a clear violation of the Logan Act, a law passed in 1799 that prohibits unauthorized negotiations by citizens with foreign governments.

Advocacy groups sue Alabama over voter roll purge

A lawsuit brought forward by several advocacy groups alleges that four individuals in Alabama have been unfairly targeted by the state’s voter roll purge ahead of the presidential election in November.

The lawsuit claims that State Secretary Wes Allen’s purge program, a plan seeking to purge more than 3,000 voters in the state who had previously been issued noncitizen identification numbers by the Department of Homeland Security, violates the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), a law that advances voting rights and makes it easier for voters to register.

John Day city councilors survive recall effort

JOHN DAY — Three John Day city councilors facing simultaneous recall efforts are still members of the city’s governing body after a trio of decisive “no” votes in the city’s Sept. 17 special election.

Republicans are suing more election officials over voter rolls in several battleground states

Washington (CNN) — Attempts by conservatives to purge state voter rolls ahead of the November election, including from Donald Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee, are ramping up, prompting concern from the Justice Department that those efforts might violate federal rules governing how states can manage their lists of registered voters.

Questioning the accuracy of voter rolls has long been a hallmark of right-wing efforts to raise doubts about the integrity of elections and featured prominently in 2020 when allies of the former president pushed false claims that scores of fraudulently cast votes helped Joe Biden win the presidency.
