In the senate the democrats have one seat definitely lost in West Virginia, as no democrat can win that state. I also believe republicans will throw money into New Jersey to see that Bob Menendez wins his primary, so they can get a cheap pick-up. Unless the country wants the end of democracy, the democrats need to start running a full out no holds barred campaign against the MAGATs, as they are having to fight FORMER PRESIDENT 666's cult followers and the main stream media, who either worship him as their god or fear him as the low-life mob boss he is!

The Iowa Caucus takes place on an 15th and while TFG is the way ahead, the caucus isn't about who will win but who comes in second. By coming in second, it gives that person some momentum heading into the next state to raise funds as well as their profile. It also gives them increased free media coverage which is worth more.

Divided government is a double edged sword. It works if people at least try to get along and accomplish something together. It doesn’t work well if both sides are at war with each other which is where we find ourselves today.

Again with the double standards. Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama and Joe Biden were fantastic at attempting to get along and find compromise that can work for everyone.

It takes two sides to work together. It only takes one to go to war. It's your side that wants to destroy the Democrats.

Which side is it, when they control the Congress, immediately wants to shut down the government? Show me when a Democratic Party-led Congress tried to shut down the government.

You have no rebuttal to the facts laid out. Again, how many times did the DEMS try to shut down government?

Let’s start with Newt:

Democrats Launch $140 Million Ad Campaign Against Trump Using Voter Testimonials

The Democratic Party’s external organization, American Bridge 21st Century, has initiated a unique project that leverages the power of personal testimonials. The project, which began last summer, aimed at gathering evidence from everyday Americans – nurses, electricians, farmers, and floor installers – about the potential risks associated with Donald Trump’s return to the presidency. The initiative sought to locate individuals who could compellingly articulate their reasons for voting against Trump in the 2020 election.

A Gargantuan Effort
American Bridge 21st Century has reported that their project yielded 732 leads, conducted 472 interviews, and filmed approximately 50 voters. This critical mass of voter testimonials is geared to fuel a significant advertising campaign, set to launch this spring. The campaign, backed by a robust budget of $140 million, targets women and working-class voters. Its aim is two-fold: to remind these key voter segments of their previous decision to reject Trump and to shape their voting choices in forthcoming elections.

I have not seen the ads but I hope they aren't more of the we will lose our democracy if Trump is reelected.
While a second Trump term would be very bad for our country and the world. Only low information fools would believe that line. Personally I believe it helps Trump more than it hurts him.

We've flipped a state house seat in Florida! This is how you get things done.

Florida Democrats flip GOP seat, boosting party and humiliating DeSantis

Florida Democrats kicked off the new year with a major victory as businessman and Navy veteran Tom Keen flipped a Republican-held seat in the state House―a development that represents Gov. Ron DeSantis' second electoral humiliation in the span of 24 hours.

Keen defeated his Republican rival, Osceola County School Board member Erika Booth, in Tuesday's special election for the 35th House District, a constituency in the Orlando suburbs that Joe Biden carried 52-47. The Democrat will succeed Republican Fred Hawkins, whom Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed in June to serve as president of South Florida State College despite lacking any background in higher education.

Josh Acevedo wins the El Paso City Council District 2 runoff

EPISD school Trustee Josh Acevedo was elected Saturday as the new El Paso City Council District 2 representative, building up a double-digit lead in early voting.

Acevedo received 1,524 votes, while Veronica Carbajal got 1,217 votes. Only 5.7% of the registered voters in the district voted, slightly higher than the turnout in the first round of voting Dec. 9.

John Day voters appear to recall mayor

Early results show that residents in John Day have voted to recall their mayor just a year after she took office. A group of citizens and city employees moved to begin the recall process after filing a criminal complaint against Mayor Heather Rookstool last fall. Both the complaint and the recall petition allege that Rookstool overstepped the legal role of her office by taking on duties belonging to the city manager. The recall went to a vote this month after Rookstool refused to resign in December.

Antonio Sierra is OPB’s rural communities reporter. He joins us with more details on the recall effort and what comes next for the city.

Democrats keep House seat as Heffernan wins in West Haven

A divided Democratic Party in West Haven retained the 115th House District seat in a special election Tuesday, electing William J. Heffernan III to the post vacated by former Rep. Dorinda Borer after her election as mayor.

Heffernan, the Democratic nominee, defeated Republican Silvana Apicella and two Democrats, former Mayor Edward M. O’Brien and Victor Borras. O’Brien ran as a petitioning candidate and Borras as a write-in.

Mandelbaum wins primary for Portsmouth-Newington NH House seat, defeating Cali-Pitts

PORTSMOUTH — Public health researcher Jennifer Mandelbaum has won the Democratic primary for a vacant New Hampshire House of Representatives seat representing Newington and Portsmouth voters, according to unofficial results from municipal officials.

In Tuesday’s primary, the Portsmouth resident fended off a bid from former state Rep. Jacqueline Cali-Pitts, who served from 1998 to 2022, and has now lost to two straight primary challengers. The Rockingham County District 21 House seat is now expected to go to Mandelbaum in the March 12 election because there is no Republican challenger for the term that runs through 2024. It had been occupied by Rep. Robin Vogt, until he resigned Dec. 1 because he moved out of the district, which serves Portsmouth's Ward 1 in addition to Newington.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) plans to fly a plane banner around Las Vegas attacking former President Trump over reproductive rights while he is holding a rally in the city.

The DNC will fly a banner that reads “Donald Trump: Ban Abortion, Punish Women” for a few hours on Saturday during Trump’s rally, the committee first told The Hill.

Our conservatives have done nothing on this board except attack Joe Biden. They have absolutely NO answers themselves. They haven’t at any time championed any candidate for President other than Donald Trump. That’s today’s GOP - no answers at all. They can only throw rocks.

They don’t want to run the government - they want to DESTROY it.

No conservative on this board has championed Trump for president.
