First Lady Dr. Jill Biden Brings Christmas Beauty To The White House.

Remember the Melania Trump Christmas Decorations...Well First Lady Dr. Jill Biden has way better taste.

Love of Country is not Blind Patriotism. It is not devotion to one person or one party. It is knowing fighting for your country is single most important thing you can do. Do not accept the notion violence is the answer.

Told you all I watched the Kennedy Center Honors of Paul McCartney/Oprah and then the EAgles because Ringo mc'd, both during Obama and all wonderful experiences.

Cant happen with the traitor, wont ever happen with the traitor or someone like him like DeSantis.

Everything that is good and decent about us, well I believe it is all gone by 2024...maybe 2022.

(If you havent seen "Get Back" and you lived in the 60's or were a Beatles fan or a music fan, it is a must see...while watching it remind yourself they were in their TWENTIES when they did it all)
I sigh in your general direction.

Looks very traditional, warm and nice. Nice to see that again.

60s Rock was like that. You broke in during your late teens/early 20s or you were too old to be a star. They tried to make the movies like that in the late 80s/early 90s when it was gospel among the data-driven suits that bought up the business that no one over 25 ever set foot in a theater. They didn't see how the business could survive if writers, directors, lead actors, or even crews and production managers were much older. Break in right out of college or give it up.

That damn near killed off theatrical features altogether. They made fewer and fewer of them. It was considered a dying art. Eventually people got hip that they'd created a feedback loop, and they were the problem, driving away most of their potential audience. It's different now.

As a child, I celebrated Christmas because that's what our parents did. We had the Christmas tree decorated with lights, ornaments, and tinsel. We kept it simple when decorating the tree. To me, seeing the Christmas trees in the White House they seem to be over decorated as if more means some type of quality or inference of wealth and they look like something you'd see in a large department store. My suggestion would be to remove half the ornaments and garland, and replace the lights with larger colored lights that will shine between the branches and needles giving it a warmer feeling.

But, that's just my opinion.

I like Xmas decorations in the Chantilly district of New Orleans, too. Just a string of white lights on the houses. Very elegant, very beautiful.

OTOH in SF there's the tradition that was known to draw onlookers from all over the Bay Area, Tom and Jerry's house. Haha the more excess, the better. Tom Taylor died last year from cancer and the city mourned him (Tom and Jerry were a longtime couple.)

Our family lived in a cul-de-sac and the entire block would string lights on their homes and erect displays in their yards. Nothing elaborate, usually just a plywood cutout of Christmas themed images and at the end of the cul-de-sac there would be a large lighted display. For two-three weeks before Christmas cars would line-up and slowly drive the street to enjoy the scene.

Reminds me of Tool Time where Tim Taylor tries to outdo his neighbor decorating the outside of his house. I always shake my head at those type of displays. I like simpler decorations that don't overwhelm the senses. Hanging lights along the edge of the roof, porch/front door, and bushes is more than enough to make it look beautiful.

Never dull!

There’s a little town up here off the 101 called Brisbane. It’s a town on a hill, on the way into the city.

Every holiday season the residents all put up white 5-point stars on their roofs and the whole hill is lit up with these beautiful stars. I don’t know the origin and should look it up. But it’s a very sweet sight.

Excellent job very nice. I don't recall ever seeing our hearing about the Trump decorations but, if they were anything along the lines of the way they destroyed the rose garden I imagine they would have been very appropriate.......for a bank.
Trump had zero taste the high roller suites at the Taj Mahal were beyond tacky and cheap

The Trump Christmas decorations looked like they came out of the movie Beetlejuice.
