College Pitcher Throws No-hitter and Hits for the Cycle

Post by Number6 »

A college baseball pitcher may have made baseball history becoming the first player to throw a no-hitter and hit for the cycle (single, double, triple, and home run).
Brady Ware, a graduate student-athlete for D-II University of Indianapolis, put together a historic performance on Friday afternoon in the team’s 13–0 victory over Drury University.

Ware threw a no-hitter and hit for the cycle in the team’s victory, putting together one of the most impressive performances in the last several years across any level of college baseball.

Ware’s performance came in the second game of a doubleheader, meaning the games were only seven innings in length. Ware threw a complete game seven-inning shutout, allowing no hits and striking out 11 batters.

At the plate, he went 4-for-4 with a single, double, triple and home run to complete the cycle. He finished the game with 5 RBI.

Okay, it may have been a D-II college game but pitching a no-hitter is hard as is hitting for the cycle. But one play doing both in one game the odds must be astronautical.
