Just a few minutes ago, I was sitting with my wife and the words “Mamma Mia” came into my mind - specifically, a snippet of lyrics from the Queen masterpiece Bohemian Rhapsody. Then I remembered the great ABBA song “Mamma Mia” and I thought, which came first, the chicken or the….
I mean, which song came first - I thought they were from the same basic time period. Did one influence the other?
Well, it’s REALLY interesting - I looked up on the wiki, and the ABBA song came out first, in September 1975. But then, Bohemian Rhapsody was released Oct. 31, 1975 - Between one and two months later. It said the ABBA song was recorded in March, and the Queen song was recorded in August.
So there’s no way that either band heard the other, and a wild coincidence of two sets of extremely inventive and talented artists. And, they’re two of my lifetime favorite songs.
How wild is that?
I find this very interesting… Mamma Mia!
