In all seriousness I personally believe that CJs goal was to destroy this site. Because people of her political mindset cannot tolerate an open forum with varying opinions and ideas being discussed.

I have had multiple people tell me they quit here because of the toxic atmosphere brought by CJ and others who no longer post here.

I would suggest you talk to someone before you accuse them of losing interest. Both have been on the board in the last few days. I know ProfX is often gone when busy, it’s the start of the semester soon and I’m sure he’s getting ready.

All this is speculation. Frankly, if I was a university professor in Florida I'd vanish during vacation periods too. It's hard enough having half a brain in Los Angeles. Then of course there's the prep for the next semester, and all the labor turmoil with the UAW organizing grad student slaves, oops I mean TAs, nationwide. No wonder the right wing boobs in the House are on the warpath. They must have noticed that except on faux nooz and its imitators, the times they are a-changin.

Many Internet friends in northern CA are offline now due to the ongoing huge storms which followed deforestation due to fires, climate change, and logging. Quite a few of the people I talk to up there are missing in action right now. Therefore I wouldn't even try to speculate about Libertas.

I have ideas about the other MIAs, and they are not very dire ones, just stuff and unverified stuff at that, so there's no point discussing it.

Plus it's hard enough waking up on time this time of year. People go into hibernation.

But even this post is speculation. If I'm going to waste my time speculating, I'd rather speculate on what Northern California's idiot boy McCarthy gave away to win the speaker vote. Are Gaetz, Gym Jordan, Rifle Colorado, and Jewish Space Lasers now in control of key committees? How many times will they investigate Hunter Biden? Can they beat their Hillary Clinton record?

I started this thread so I'm going to take a privilege to explain why I started it.

Most of us have been on this board and the old board for many years and some have known each other on other boards. In some instances, we've met each other in-person, and some speak with each other on the phone or on social media. We're kind of like a family and like family members we have strong opinions on various topics and each other. We may act like a dysfunctional family at times and we may show how we feel about each other is different ways but I don't think we wish ill of anyone.

When rainwater disappeared I asked where she was because I was concerned for her since she posted a lot here. The same goes for carmenjones. She posted a lot here and then all of a sudden no posts so I was concerned for her. This thread was not about hashing out old arguments, grievances, or for name calling. If gounion, glenn, Ted, JoeMemphis, or anyone else suddenly stopped posting I would be concerned about them and want to know if they were okay.

So folks, please, let's us be concerned on how someone we know is doing and not on our pettiness.

Yes, Carmen and Rainwater both share many years of history with me on the various boards started up in response to the right wing takeover of American news media. These came and went, just like all the other failed attempts to get an alternative view onto the corporate-owned airwaves/ cables/ fibers/ downlinks/ whatever.
