November private payrolls unexpectedly fell by 32,000, led by steep small business job cuts, ADP reports

The U.S. labor market slowdown intensified in November as private companies cut 32,000 workers, with small businesses hit the hardest, payrolls processing firm ADP reported Wednesday.

With worries intensifying over the domestic jobs picture, ADP indicated the issues were worse than anticipated. The payrolls decline marked a sharp step down from October, which saw an upwardly revised gain of 47,000 positions, and was well below the Dow Jones consensus estimate from economists for an increase of 40,000.

The economy continues to obliterate under Dozy Don Snoreleon.

And now the only reliable data has to come from the private sector. Full on fascism.

Can't even trust all of them. CNBC has various aging white male captains of industry on daily, and they all talk about how great everything's going. They're especially excited about how much fossil fuel we will have to burn so AI can ask you dumb questions on the phone.

Pope Leo slams 'ethical derailment' of continued world hunger
.....Leo cited U.N. figures that around 673 million people do not eat enough each day, calling that number "the clear sign of a prevailing insensitivity, of a soulless economy... and of an unjust and unsustainable system of resource distribution".

"In a time when science has lengthened life expectancy … allowing millions of human beings to live - and die - struck by hunger is a collective failure, an ethical derailment, an historic offence," said the pope......

US jobless claims jump by most since 2020 after holiday drop

Applications for US unemployment benefits rose last week by the most since the onset of the pandemic, after a big drop during the Thanksgiving holiday week.

Initial claims increased by 44,000 to 236,000 in the week ended Dec. 6, according to Labor Department data released Thursday. That was the biggest jump since March 2020 and followed the lowest level of applications in more than three years in the previous week. The figure exceeded all but one estimate in a Bloomberg survey of economists.

Trump Asked Why Norwegians Don’t Immigrate Here. Here’s the Actual Answer.
Why don’t people from Norway, Sweden, or Denmark flood into the United States the way Trump thinks they should?
Well… when you compare the systems side by side, the answer is obvious.

These countries have universal healthcare, strong worker protections, paid parental leave, affordable childcare, low poverty rates, and some of the lowest homicide numbers in the world. Meanwhile, Americans face some of the highest medical costs, longest work hours, and thinnest safety nets of any wealthy nation.

This video breaks down the real differences — and why people from well-functioning democracies aren’t rushing to leave societies that actually invest in them.
It’s not about slogans. It’s about systems, outcomes, and lived reality......

ADP National Employment Report Preliminary Estimate November 29, 2025

ROSELAND, N.J., Dec. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- For the four weeks ending November 29, 2025, U.S. private employers added an average of 16,250 jobs per week, according to the NER Pulse, a weekly update of the monthly ADP National Employment Report (NER).

This continued strengthening during the second half of November signals a potential rebound in hiring after four weeks of job losses. These numbers are preliminary and could change as new data is added.

Payrolls grow in November because employers take on temps for the holiday rush.

Tracking the monthly numbers fills the newshole without having to spend money sniffing out and writing up stories, but it does not really tell anyone much useful information. The numbers flap in the breeze. Last month's trend is this month's old news. One clown ordering a war changes everything, and it's a big world out there. Lots of clowns.

Private payrolls rose 41,000 in December, slightly below expectations, ADP says

Private sector job creation turned positive in December though at a bit softer pace than expected, payrolls processing firm ADP reported Wednesday.

Companies added 41,000 hires for the month, a reversal from the loss of 29,000 in November, providing a positive sign to a labor market that otherwise struggled as 2025 came to a close. Private company payrolls had declined in three of the four months prior to the December release.

It's simple. Poor people buy their drugs on the street, and often die from hot shots or other kinds of contamination or overdose. Rich people get prescriptions, and buy them legally, increasingly online. Dope to your door dot com.

I really, really, really don't want to reduce every problem in the world to class struggle, because that was the central fallacy of Marxism, and it increased power imbalance when history did what history does in such cases. However, it does disturb me how close the present situation with Trumpism comes to the same imbalances that overthrew monarchies and required the violent imposition of democracy to level the playing field a couple of centuries ago. I thought that war was over, but apparently it isn't. The oligarchs just found another way to grab power.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani showed his support for thousands of nurses protesting their contracts with private hospitals. Zohran Mamdani joined the rally on Monday, January 12, 2026.

According to The New York Times, the controversial move has pitted the left-wing mayor against the CEOs of Mount Sinai, New York-Presbyterian, and Montefiore Medical Center. Referring to the hospital executives as the "wealthiest" in New York, he griped that these individuals do not struggle to "make ends meet."

I don't know whether they're the wealthiest in NY, but they're right up there. The whole middle of Manhattan just south of Central Park is Billionaire's Row, with some of the world's tallest buildings all lined up facing the park. They are mostly condos, not offices. The occupants have private jets and servants and staffs, and they aren't even there most of the time.

It all gives you a very clear and stark look at what's gone wrong in the world, and how people got conned into thinking trump would make America great again the same way Hitler did it in Germany.

Consumer prices rose 2.4% annually in January, less than expected

The cost of goods and services rose at a slower annual rate than expected in January, providing hope that the nagging U.S. inflation problem could be starting to ease.

The consumer price index for January accelerated 2.4% from the same time a year ago, down 0.3 percentage point from the prior month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. That pulled the inflation rate down to where it was the month after President Donald Trump in April 2025 announced aggressive tariffs on U.S. imports.

Kaiser pharmacy workers end 3-day strike

Pharmacy and lab employees at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego County, the rest of Southern California and Bakersfield ended their three-day targeted unfair labor practice strike Thursday.

"Our strength and solidarity this week proved we are prepared to escalate again if Kaiser refuses to respect workers," the United Food and Commercial Workers, which represents the striking workers, said in a statement.

So the rest of the strikers at Kaiser remain out, just like they have been for three weeks now? There was certainly a whole street full of them yesterday on La Cienega near the freeway.

We've been reading and hearing about the layoffs of thousands of workers and now all of a sudden there were 130,000 jobs crated? Color me skeptical.

Think of the low wage and minimum wage workers since 2020 but also even since 2009 there has been extreme pressure on the most vulnerable in regards to decreased standard of living and inflated costs while the federal minimum wage has not been adjusted in 15 years to restore its value now and benefits like employer health insurance have disintegrated by way of deductibles co pays and high premiums.

They put off opening the International bridge I think till april now trump is threating to delay its opening further and lots of business minded people, chambers of commerce are complaining, but I wonder how they would feel if the bridge stayed closed for 15 years like the federal minimum wage has. furthermore what happens to a lopsided economic system where so many homes sit empty, so many car lots remain full, so many people sleep outside on the streets the highest earners have the power to destroy and maim and the most vulnerable workers have no power or retaining value to do anything with at all?

I was thinking of a famous structure between lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, but the ones across the St. Lawrence River in the Detroit region are even more appropriate. Work fast, before the Canadians blow them up.
