American Cities Need Republicans

Post by Glennfs »

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/dallas ... epublicans

As mayor of Dallas switches parties. No truer words were ever spoken.
All you need do is look at the shitholes ran into the ground by democrats.

Close to every major city democrats run are shitholes unfit to live in.

I am sure the democratic party if given the chance can do for the USA what it has done to our major cities

Is that why we see Richland and Berkeley counties in that bastion of safety South Carolina featured so much on On Patrol-Live every week?

Most of our mayoral races are nonpartisan.

That said, you can look up the party of the Mayor - they often are registered voters themselves, after all - they just don't run that way (i.e. nobody on the ballot is voting based on party affiliation, which doesn't appear).

Thus, 62 of our biggest cities (out of the 100 largest) are run by Democrats. Source:

The people have spoken.

The Dallas Mayor is entitled to his opinion, as are you. As for me, I stick to facts. Have a day!

I'm sure the Republicans would do to every city what they did to Mississippi.

What metrics are being used here?

What constitutes a "shithole" city?

What variables do you believe are causing these situations?

Explain. Please be prepared to show graphs, charts, statistics, etc. Show your work.

Wherever you have cities whose public officials and people in positions of power and authority loath the people who live in the cities you have problems and you have problems multiplying. Doesn't matter which party its recipe for disaster whoever does it.

That's bullshit. American cities need good government, and for someone to give a damn. Partisan politics are much less relevant than in Congress.

American cities are shitholes because they have been neglected by both parties. However, most of the problems we see today come straight from Republican economics. Since the Democrats went along with this retro idea of bringing back 19th century economics in order to maintain political high ground which was being taken over by the fat cats who bought up the media, we can't excuse them either.

Everything from 1980 on is a horror show, and the sooner people wise up, the sooner we get representatives who aren't complicit.

Actually all of the cities Glenn listed are fine if you're rich. The only one I haven't spent significant time in is Gary, only been through there on the train and seen the Rust Belt close up from the railroads that go through the post-apocalyptic disaster zone that used to make all our steel but got too old and was abandoned rather than upgraded.

Gary is a monument to de-industrialization. So are some parts of Brooklyn, but these have by and large gentrified and some are now very much ahead of the conceptual curve on what a city could look like if more people gave a shit.

Actually the worst of the lot is probably Los Angeles. The sunshine and all the recreational opportunities mask some truly awful city government, and the city charter is so badly conceived that only a total reconceptualization would even begin to fix things.

The state where the average family has a life style far better than the average family in California.

That is very true. Far to many local yokels are busy feathering their own nest.

Or as my dad used to say. They started out to go good and did quite well

Only in your dreams. Mississippi is at the bottom in nearly every measure. Gives South Carolina a way to feel good about themselves.

In your dreams. In the real world, they need fewer Republicans.

Not that Democrats are all that much better, but at least for the most part they aren't white supremacists, anti-semites, America Firsters, or malcontents. The few that are don't get the traction that they get in the Republican Party.

Glenn was played for a sucker by the rich and their propaganda machine, and his pocket was picked, and he likes it.

I've proven multiple times how an average family is far better off in Mississippi than in California.

So the average family California who can't afford to buy a home is better off than the average family in Mississippi who can afford to buy a home.

Such is liberal logic

So you’re saying that real estate is more expensive in California, because people would rather live in California than Mississippi. That’s called capitalism,

You guys have ran Mississippi for how long? It’s the shit hole of our nation.

I am not going to run through numbers again. But the average couple in Mississippi can afford to buy a home, have a decent car and still have disposable income.
While the average couple in California are living paycheck to paycheck.
Which of course your liberal logic tells you is much better.

Bottomline if you like crime and poverty live in a city ran by liberal democrats.
