It appears his sales of the stock are bit stifling.

“Reuters) -Tesla boss Elon Musk disclosed another $3.6 billion in stock sales on Wednesday, taking his total near $40 billion this year and frustrating investors as the company's shares wallow at two-year lows.”

I suspect he’s not done selling.

Tesla's no longer the only game in town for electric cars. Conservatives won't buy electric cars at all for ideological reasons - they LOVE pollution. And liberals who DO want electric cars have far more choices, so they won't buy Tesla any more.

Talk about self-defeating.

Elon turns on Bari Weiss. Accuses her of trying to keep one foot in both worlds. This would seem to suggest that his Twitter files were, well, one sided.

It really isn't "doxxing" (IMHO) to release publicly available flight information. Now, if they were breaking into private files or personal info, I would see it differently. But the reality is this information is open & available to anyone, even if these are charter flights on private jets, because, well, the FAA mandates it.

If these people were posting where his kids go to school and their names & addresses ... yeah, that would be scummy. But if where Elon flies is public record .... this is something anyone can see.

The journalists kicked off Twitter were not posting the flight info. In most cases, they were simply discussing the situation and that it exists and the people doing it. Again, all they were noting was the existence of it, not telling people Elon's daily whereabouts. Or his kids.

He knew it was wrong - or at least a Twitter poll awakened his conscience - so he reversed the decision. EVEN Bari Weiss can see that. :D

Elon is full of shit. He’s the guy that discloses his personal location when he brags about sleeping at Twiiter HQ. And he’s constantly attending speaking events. He just wants to ban legit journalists, because fascism.

In fact the billionaires have made such a stink that the FAA has made it possible for them to not show up on ADS-B flight tracking sites. In fact, the Feds have always been able to do this, and the military can show up as just a code that doesn't give information on the specific aircraft.

For at least a couple of years, anyone has been able to apply for LADD status, in which case the existence of the flight is still shown but its identity is not. News helicopters do this as a standard procedure, though at least in LA the pilots tweet when they're over big stories and anyone with half a brain who has made the connection at a previous time can match up with future hits. Some private aircraft which charter out for big bucks to ferry business falloons also do it. The registration still shows up on the ADS-B but nothing else does. Sometimes savvy users can find the info on Google, but like finding anything on Google, you have to know what to look for.

There's another, newer exemption which enables a flight to turn off the ADS-B altogether and only show up as a one-time hex code valid only for that flight. No publicly searchable information is transmitted. In some cases, even the existence of the aircraft is not shown on these web sites. This code is different from the ICAO code which is hard-programmed into the plane's transponders and which these sites do not track. Federal agencies like Secret Service PPD always did this, and LAPD has been able to do it for at least several years. Now, however, anyone who does the paperwork and has a valid reason can do it. Presumably money still buys favors in this country, and Musk could stop tracking of his airplane by calling up the right lawyers and asking for it.

Instead, as always, he chooses to be the Space Karen and ban people from twitter. Asshole.

I may be old, but I’m trendy because I bailed on Twitter before Elon Musk’s antics | Opinion
I never liked Twitter anyway, no matter who ran it.

I find its interface to be chaotic and hard to follow, its length limitations too confining to convey any but the simplest of thoughts, and the bulk of its content pointless, with way too many F-bombs and suspect sources.

To me, Twitter is kind of like a big bag of someone else’s garbage. If you dig through it, you might find something useful. But it hardly seems worth the effort.

I never understood why some journalists were so enamored with the thing. It always seemed to me like we were just giving away our own hard-earned reporting to some other company to wrap their advertising around.

I raised that question over the years and the answer always boiled down to two things: You’re a boomer and don’t get it (guilty as charged) and This is the way young, hip people get their information (a truly scary thought).

I remember sitting in the Capitol one night live-tweeting the governor’s State of the State address. As I typed in the latest group of dignitaries being escorted to their seats, it occurred to me that it was one of the dumbest things I’d ever done in 30-plus years as a journalist.

Even before Musk started banning reporters, Twitter affected American journalism and not in a good way.

I’ve been to way too many meetings where twitalists tweeted the play by play, then cut-and-pasted their tweets together, put in a few hackneyed transitions and called it a news story. That was when they weren’t covering something someone said on Twitter.

I’m not sure what that is, but it’s not newswriting.

The 260 character tweets forced people to get to the point. Twitter was good for certain things when immediacy was more important than detail.

By keeping things short and simple, it made a good way to communicate with people in foreign countries. I had friends in Germany, France, Norway, Holland, Italy, and some other places. It helps that everyone seems to know a little English, and it didn't hurt that I knew a little French and a fair amount of LA Spanish.

It was great fun for a while, but it declined badly a few years ago when the threats, insults, piling on, and doxxing finally got too thick for normal conversation. Everyone really cut back their use of the platform.

Now we have Musk apparently using it to address the planet, as if most of us give a shit what he thinks. Space Karen should go launch himself.

SpaceX launches second mission from Florida within two days

These two missions mark SpaceX’s 58th and 59th launches of 2022, which puts the company one launch away from the goal of 60 missions in a single year. Two more missions are currently scheduled for this year, including another Starlink mission and EROS-C3.

Exclusive: Probe of Musk's Neuralink to scrutinize long-criticized U.S animal welfare regulator

Dec 19 (Reuters) - Law enforcement officials investigating Elon Musk's Neuralink Corp over its animal trial program are also scrutinizing the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s oversight of the company's operations, after the agency failed to act on violations at other research organizations, according to several people familiar with the matter.

Reuters reported on Dec. 5 that the USDA's watchdog, the Office of the Inspector General, is investigating Neuralink, a medical device company that is developing brain implants, over potential animal-welfare violations. A federal prosecutor in the civil division at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California requested the probe, people familiar with the matter said.

Which means it is really 77-23 to step down as there is no question he had the poll compromised by bullshit votes.

As long as he and his Saudi pals have ANY ownership, it is a shit platform of no use.

And keep in mind that that 57% is the ones with the balls to go on record, something that many normal people are afraid to do. Twitter is notorious for flamage campaigns against those who express unpopular opinions. These often include death threats. A lot of users just don't do politics there any more.

Yes, Internet and Twitter polls are garbage, but hey, if you're going to use them for your decision-making ... that was your choice.

“Elon Musk has said Twitter will only allow accounts with a blue tick to vote on changes to policy after a majority of users voted for him to quit.
Mr Musk launched a Twitter poll asking if he should step down as chief executive - 57.5% of users voted "yes".
Since then, he has not commented directly on the result of the poll.
But he has said that Twitter will alter its rules so that only people who pay for a subscription can vote on company policy.
One user claimed that so-called bots appeared to have voted heavily in the poll about Mr Musk's role at the firm. Mr Musk said he found the claim "interesting".

“ However, Mr Musk's intentions remain unclear. Although US broadcaster CNBC tweeted on Tuesday that Mr Musk is actively searching for a new chief executive for Twitter, Mr Musk responded with two laughing emojis.”

Why the change occurred

“ In response to a tweet saying Twitter Blue subscribers "should be the only ones that can vote in policy related polls. We actually have skin in the game", Mr Musk said: "Good point, Twitter will make that change".
