Warnock wins Georgia Senate runoff election

(NewsNation) — Decision Desk HQ has called Georgia’s runoff Senate race for incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock, who has a small lead in votes as of Tuesday evening, according to unofficial results.

All eyes were on Georgia’s Senate race heading into last month’s election. At that time, the race’s outcome might have decided whether Democrats or Republicans would control the Senate.

And barely because of Kemp changing the laws of how you can vote in the runoff, or more accurately, how much harder it is to vote if you are a working person, that no good fucking traitorous, fascist pig.
I sigh in your general direction.

Warnock beats Walker! As of this morning, with 99% of the vote in, NYT says Warnock wins 51-48.

Well, ... excellent, with a true Senate Dem majority, VP Harris is now free to do other things besides sit in the Senate chamber to break ties.

It's not filibuster proof, but there are some things we can get to work on. Motor gave a nice list.

Now things have flipped ... the House will be the problem more than the Senate. :|

Sadly, if Manchin or Sinema can see a profit in switching parties, both financially and power, I am afraid they will.

Georgia will be a blue state the next time Warnock runs.
I sigh in your general direction.

The sooner the better, afaic. F. them.

Georgia will be a blue state the next time Warnock runs.
The Republican Party will also have limited itself to a full on white-separatist regional party. Looking at just the GA exit poll results yesterday, it's well on its way.

There needs to be a better alternative than this situation but the grand fantasy of whites-rule is too great for white cons across the country. :problem:

Kari Lake Claims Victory in Georgia Runoff

By Andy Borowitz
ATLANTA (The Borowitz Report)—Calling it “the upset of the century,” the former anchorwoman Kari Lake claimed victory in Tuesday’s Georgia runoff. “No one thought I would win this, but together we made it happen!” Lake declared. After briefly savoring her win, Lake lashed out at mainstream news organizations for refusing to acknowledge her triumph. “If you were watching CNN, MSNBC, or Fox, you wouldn’t even know that Kari Lake was running for Senate in Georgia,” she said. “More lies from the fake news media!” Recognizing that she may need to convince some Georgians that she is, in fact, their United States senator, she issued a solemn promise: “No one will work harder to win

GOP sues over special elections in Pa. House majority battle

The top-ranking Republican in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives asked a court late Friday to prevent voters from filling three vacant seats in February that will determine majority control of the chamber.

Rep. Bryan Cutler of Lancaster, who served as speaker until Nov. 30, asked Commonwealth Court to issue an injunction, naming the Department of State, acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman and the Allegheny County Elections Board as defendants.

Progressive Upsets Incumbent to Win Seat on Louisiana Public Service Commission

Just about everyone on this site has probably been suffering from campaign fatigue, but an important election was held yesterday. Progressive challenger Davante Lewis, just 30 years old, defeated an energy-industry-friendly incumbent to win a seat on the board of the powerful Lousiana Public Service Commission. The Commission regulates utility companies and helps set energy policies and electric rates for the state. Davante drew 59% of the vote compared to incumbent Lambert Boissierie III Saturday, www.nola.com/

From Davante’s website, here are the main policies he ran on, www.davanteforla.com
