Is this the one where the trumps get off with zero consequences because Weissman refused to testify against them?

Zero consequences other than this tiny fine, I suppose.

WWE RELEASES MANDY ROSE FROM HER CONTRACT

Mandy Rose was a huge deal in WWE’s NXT brand, as she carried their Women’s Title for over 400 days. She lost that belt this week in surprising fashion to Roxanne Perez, pushing up a scheduled New Year’s Evil match, and there is a reason for that.

Sean Sapp has confirmed that WWE has released Mandy Rose from her contract. Her BrandArmy paywall website was just simply getting out of hand with the amount of content she was putting up that infringed with the company’s moral code.

Losing a columnist and gaining an author, always appreciated the care for which he put into his craft.

Leonard Pitts Jr. Retiring from the Miami Herald

Leonard Pitts Jr.: Time flew, didn’t it? Now, it’s time for me to fly off, too

Well, as Carol Burnett used to say, I’m so glad we had this time together. I’ve written about 1.6 million words as a columnist. This 600 or so will be the last. I’m retiring for a few reasons. One is that, while I’ve managed to squeeze out four novels between column deadlines, my dream was always to write books full time. I turned 65 in October, so if not now, when?

Another reason is that a column, for me, at least, is an act of emotional investment — and I’m emotionally exhausted. They say you know when it’s time. That’s true. And it is.

So here’s the part where I thank a bunch of people, most of whom you never heard of: Like Mom, who thought the sun rose and set on her firstborn.......

...Tomorrow, I will wake up for the first time in 46 years without a deadline to meet. It’s going to feel strange. I’ve always considered this podium a great privilege: Everyone has an opinion, after all, but precious few get to have their voices magnified — much less be paid for it. I tried to use that privilege to sound alarms about human rights, democracy, gun violence, the misinformation crisis and more. The fight on all those fronts goes on. Nothing ends here, except my access to this megaphone. I’ll be teaching and, of course, writing novels from now on.........

Legendary Radio Host, Programmer Scott Shannon To Retire

From August 2, 1983 through early 1989, he was a household name across the New York Tri-State Area as the “head Zookeeper” at the legendary Top 40 station he built from scratch under Malrite Communications ownership — WHTZ “Z100.”

From mid-1991 through February 7, 2014, he was the lead morning host, for many years with Todd Pettingill, at crosstown WPLJ-FM. On that date, Shannon “retired,” even noting that he would perhaps “pop back in from time to time and try to get Todd to play a Rascals song or two.”

Looks like Denver got a head start making moves before Black Monday

Report: Broncos have dismissed special teams coordinator Dwayne Stukes and offensive line coach Butch Barry

Earlier today, the Denver Broncos announced that they have fired Head Coach Nathaniel Hackett. Well, the firings have not stopped there. according to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos have dismissed special teams coordinator Dwayne Stukes and offensive line coach Butch Barry as well.

Dwayne Stukes was brought in this offseason to be part of Hackett’s staff and was supposed to help the special teams unit that has struggled in recent years. However, was saw lapses at times and just not much improvement from the unit. He was unlikely to return regardless, but it is telling that he was let go with two games left in the season. So, the Broncos will once again look for a new special teams coach to help this unit next season.
