Kiss my ass Third Way.

Centrist think tank: Voters see Democrats as just as extreme as Republicans

U.S. voters fine Democrats as just as extreme as Republicans, and out-of-touch on Americans’ values and priorities, according to a new poll from the centrist think tank Third Way ahead of Tuesday’s midterms.

“If Democrats manage to hold on to the House and Senate, it will be in spite of the party brand, not because of it,” reads the Third Way memo.

I have a new person for the snowflake thread NY State Democratic Party Chair Jay Jacobs he was appointed by Andrew Cuomo get out you dumb asshole.

Hochul won her election, but at what cost?

On election night, Gov. Kathy Hochul basked in the applause of her supporters after declaring victory and becoming the first woman ever elected governor of New York. The glass-ceiling-breaking moment was certainly cause for celebration, but it didn’t take away from the fact Hochul ended the night with just a five percentage point lead, the closest race in nearly three decades.

The celebratory atmosphere also belied the far more somber mood in other parts of the state as the returns showed a number of significant losses for Democrats down ballot. Although the party can weather the handful of lost seats in the state Senate – and surprisingly in the Assembly – a poor showing at the congressional level may become the reason Democrats lose the House.

Former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani will not face criminal charges in Ukraine foreign lobbying case, prosecutors say

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will not face criminal charges in an investigation into whether he violated U.S. lobbying laws while doing business in Ukraine, federal prosecutors told a judge Monday.

Giuliani, a former top federal prosecutor who has acted as former President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer in the past, faced a grand jury probe in the Southern District of New York for two years related to his work in Ukraine.

It's yours now GOP get ready for gridlock impeachment chaos. :problem:

Republicans win control of the House

Republicans are projected to win a majority of seats in the House of Representatives, gaining control of Congress’s lower chamber after four years of Democratic rule.

The Associated Press called the 218th seat for Republicans — projecting Rep. Mike Garcia (R-Calif.) to win reelection — around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, more than a week after Election Day.

Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner impeached by Pa. House

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS/AP) — Philadelphia's elected Democratic prosecutor faces a state Senate trial and possible removal from office after the Republican-led state House voted Wednesday to impeach him over progressive policies he has enacted amid rising crime in the city.

Lawmakers voted 107-85 to impeach District Attorney Larry Krasner, setting the stage for what would be the first Pennsylvania Senate impeachment trial in nearly three decades. Republicans currently have a 29-21 majority in the state Senate, going to 28-22 early next year, and a two-thirds vote of the senators present would be required to remove Krasner.

Yeah, with a CA race being called, the Rethugs now have 218. There's no path for Dems.

MSNBC is calling a final House majority of roughly 221-214... a 7 seat majority (nothing like the 60 seat "red wave" some were predicting).

Yes, a few nuts will put Trump's name in for House Speaker. No, it won't happen. My guess is Freedumb Caucus will challenge McCarthy, but the toadstool will get it anyway.

I can understand if Pelosi no longer wants Minority Leader. She has a husband to care for and has earned time off.

Sigh. There will be idiotic talk of impeachment of Biden, nothing will happen. They will call for investigating Hunter Biden. What a colossal waste. (I'm not saying he hasn't done anything criminally wrong, but I am saying I have no idea why the House needs to investigate.)

Jay Jacobs responds with letter signed by over 40 county chairs

State Democratic Party Chair Jay Jacobs has a lot of vocal opponents in the aftermath of the midterm elections, but he still has plenty of support among county chairs.

In a letter shared exclusively with City & State, over 40 county Democratic Party chairs are backing Jacobs, who has been under fire from many elected officials and observers in his party following the loss of several congressional seats that Joe Biden won by 10 points or more in 2020. “While unfortunately Democrats came up short in several Congressional Districts, it was not due to a lack of resources or effort from Chairman Jacobs or the State Party,” reads the letter, which was still circulating among the county chairs as of Wednesday night. “Chairman Jacobs has guided our party through unprecedented crossroads during his tenure and has consistently led with a steady hand.”

Guess who's back at Disney.

Bob Iger Replaces Successor Bob Chapek As Disney CEO

The Walt Disney Co., straining in the transition to streaming, announced that it has replaced CEO Bob Chapek with his predecessor Bob Iger in a bit of Return of the Jedi-type drama.

Iger had a legendary 15-year term as CEO of Disney. Near the end of his run he led Disney’s strategic shift to jump headlong into streaming by successfully launching Disney Plus in 2019.

Of course they would the red SC judges love gerrymandering.

The Supreme Court Just Handed A Blow To Black and Latino Voters In Texas

The Supreme Court just declined to hear an appeal by Black and Hispanic Texas voters who were accusing the Republican-led legislators of redrawing state Senate districts to intentionally diminish their voting power, according to Reuters. A panel of three judges decided although the new state Senate map may “disproportionately affect minority voters” in Tarrant County, there was no evidence indicating that the legislature’s “true intent was racial.”

This dispute centers on Senate District 10, which includes part of Fort Worth in north-central Texas. Democratic state Senator Beverly Powell currently holds the district but decided not to seek re-election last April because she felt the seat was un-winnable because of how the district’s boundaries were redrawn. Now, the House seat will be represented by Republican Phil King, who ran unopposed.

Amazon CEO: No plans to take down antisemitic film Kyrie Irving shared

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy on Wednesday signaled that the company would not take down an antisemitic film and book from its store that gained attention after Brooklyn Nets player Kyrie Irving promoted it.

Irving was suspended from the Nets after tweeting a link to the 2018 film titled “Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America,” which was based on a 2015 book of the same name and contains a number of antisemitic tropes. The film and book remain available on Amazon as pressure grows for their removal.

Gov. Christie’s niece kicked off plane, injured 6 deputies, cops say

The niece of former Governor Chris Christie falsely accused a Latino family on a plane of "smuggling cocaine" and then injured six Louisiana deputies who removed her from the flight to New Jersey, authorities said.

Soon after boarding the flight out of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport at around 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Shannon Epstein, 25, asked another group of passengers if they were smuggling drugs, the New Orleans Advocate first reported.

GOP Assembly winner could be ousted over Brooklyn residency

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — In an election in which Republicans underperformed nationally, Lester Chang was a success story. He beat a New York City Democrat who’d been in office for almost 36 years, and in doing so became the first Asian American elected to represent Brooklyn’s growing Chinatown in the state Assembly.

Now, Democrats in the Legislature are talking about denying Chang his seat as they raise questions about whether he met a residency requirement. They question whether Chang lived in Brooklyn long enough to run for office. Republican supporters say he lives in the borough, in his childhood home.
