Obama just gave Democrats their perfect closing message

Post by Libertas »

https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/30/opinions ... index.html

"SNIP.......

Obama implored the crowd at his first stop in Michigan: “Who will fight for your freedom? Is it a bunch of Republican politicians and judges who think they should get to decide when you start a family or how many children you have, who you marry or who you love?” He then added, “Or is it leaders like (Michigan Democratic Gov.) Gretchen Whitmer who believe that the freedom to make these personal decisions belong to every American, not politicians in Washington?”

A short time later, at a rally in Milwaukee, Obama again posed that question while flanked by Wisconsin Democratic Gov. Tony Evers and Democratic US Senate candidate Mandela Barnes: “Is it Republican politicians and judges who think they should get to decide when you start a family or how many children you should have, or who you marry or who you love?” Obama continued, “Or is it Democratic leaders who believe that the freedom to make these most intimate personal decisions belong to every American, not politicians, mostly men, sitting somewhere in Washington?”

The 44th President then put it pointedly: “That’s the choice in this election; that’s what you have to decide.”

Obama did address the challenges of inflation and the economy. After acknowledging the pain caused by rising prices, he noted, “Who’s going to do something about it? Republicans are having a field day running ads talking about it, but what is their actual solution to it?”

Hoping the patriot candidates will get IN THE FACE of their opponents in ads reminding people this is a freedom or no freedom election.
I sigh in your general direction.

Another good message.

(Still shouldn't be doing from the pulpit)

Someone tell that guy he shouldn't be preaching from the pulpit but from the house floor.

He'd have my vote.8-)

I love Mike, but generally I tend to go more by 538 & Nate Silver and I tend to look at the night before election day. As always, the closer to election day, the more accurate. Calls made in summer are generally nonsense. Some people swear by RCP but they just average and don't weight their polls.

Right now, he has the Senate at dead heat, and 83% chance of Rethugs taking the House. The good news is a 50-50 Senate still goes to the Dems, thanks Kamala Harris.

It looks like -- shocker -- we're headed for what seems to be Congress' default state: gridlock. There is no earthly way the Rethugs get a veto proof majority either.

I also believe the insane voices saying they'll make Trump the House speaker or impeach Biden - also no earthly way that will happen. (They don't have the votes, let alone charges for the articles.) Unfortunately, we'll probably get Kevin McCarthy back again, which will give me indigestion, too, but he's at least moderately competent.

BTW, no matter what, don't let forecasts dissuade you from voting. Anything can happen, and your vote always matters. Nuff said.

Also, I agree with Lib on this - there will be scum trying to suppress and cage the vote and harass election officials - hope Marc Elias and Election Protection is ready to get busy. It is very possible many races will drag on a long time after election day and we won't know who has control right then.

Yes that too harassment & threats shouldn't be taken for granted but for The GOP it's "Oh it's ok to harass anyone we don't care so let it be" typical stay safe out there all.

RCP Claims polls are slanted towards democrats. Yesterday Thom Hartmann was saying 538 polls were slanted towards Republicans.
Personally I tend to look at the RCP polls throw out the top and bottom and look at the middle.
Of course the only poll that matters and is accurate is the poll that closes next Tuesday night

People claim all kinds of things.

I like 538 because it weights pollsters based on their history of accuracy, which makes a lot of logical sense to me.

Nate forecasts other things, including sports outcomes, and nobody accuses him of being biased toward (say) the Yankees, or the Orioles, or ... whatever.... :D ... I like Nate because he shows his work, and has a good history of accuracy. Personally, maybe he's a a member of the Conscious Party ... doesn't really matter ...

Lemme see. Follow 538 for reality, follow Moore for hope. Ya, i'm going with hope.

i hate the last week. The ads are relentless. Relentless bullshit.

Anyway, If there's a perfect closing message from Obama, well, this'd be it for me........

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKRBv3toLv0

He didn't raise his voice. He didn't say he'd pay for court costs. He didn't chime in with the crowd, "throw him out". No, no. No, no, no....no... no, he didn't. Instead, he calmly tried to explain the danger of the young lad's doings. That's class.

Careful what you say, it'll go to Nate's head.

Although, it has already and he's now become an expert on everything.

So far WI and AZ are on record that if they control the govt there, Democrats will not be allowed to win. period

The rest of the red states will have to follow once the pressure starts. The illegitimate SC with 5 known perjurers will approve this of course.
I sigh in your general direction.
