For the most part we missed the heat and rain this year. It was great.
Sturgis is no place to fuck around on a bike. We left yesterday with a Rally Tally of 86 accidents and 4 fatalities.
We try to avoid all that by riding very early and taking the afternoon off chilling and swimming at the cabin when the crowds are the thickest. Then an evening ride to a town (Keystone) close to the cabin for dinner. We then finish it off at the cabin where the drinking and carrying on can really commence.
Didn't see one political tent. Not one Trump t-shirt. Not one sighting of the Trump tour bus that has been there for years. Ya know, thinking back i don't even remember seeing anyone sporting a MAGA hat. Even the tension from the last couple years was gone. It was all about the rally and having fun. It was a nice break.
We made it to Wounded Knee a couple years ago. The one stop we do make is the Crazy Horse monument. They've now carved the hand and started on the horse he will be sitting on. ....
