What I hope not to hear

First if Harris wins I hope not to hear that anyone here is disappointed, because nobody will be.
Even if she wins in an electoral college landslide I don't want to hear that she had a mandate, because she won't.

If Harris wins it will be only because she was running against Trump. She has never won a primary and had there been an actual primary this time around she would have finished 5th in a field of 4.

If Trump wins I hope not to hear that anyone here is happy or celebrating, because nobody will be.
I hope not to hear it's the end of the world, because it won't be.
If Trump wins it will be because he is running against a weak candidate who wouldn't have had a chance in an open primary. That and all that will happen is we will have 4 years of ineffective government with rhetoric coming from the WH slightly worse than in his first 4 years.

Also if Trump wins this site will be a ghost town for about a week.

Whew. Just got home from setting up vote centers. Hadn’t ate since breakfast. Now we have to be at the vote center at 5:30 AM. Polls open at 7 AM, and close at 7 - except that anyone in line at 7 will get to vote. I go out and end the line and stand in it until they are all in the building.

Of course there were no problems. We were told that a majority voted early, dunno if that's true. Never a huge rush, well, had a rush at opening, but we didn't have long lines at all. We voted just shy of 600 people. Had a full crew, and everyone was great. Just had a handful after 6, only one after 6:30, everyone wanted to start shutting down, and I told them no, not until 7. The last lady came in at five till, very apologetically, but I said you will get to vote. I shut the door at 7, and she left a minute later. We were out of the building at 7:45.

Up and running the UHaul at 8, we finished unloading everything just after 11. One guy said a fella showed up at their center at 15 after, said he had driven 2 hours to vote. He told him he wasted two hours.

So I'm completely done for the year - and next year. Back to retirement. I'm wore slap out.

Well, at least I can defend what I believe in. You have done nothing but stand outside and throw rocks. Liberals, who are all socialists and communists, are what was destroying this nation. The inflation we faced were all because of the policies of Joe Biden. His inflation reduction act and the CHIPs Act were terrible for the country. They need to be repealed, right? Trump and the GOP have promised to do so.

So now you have everything you ever wanted. The people you voted for in the House and Senate are in charge (I know, the House hasn't been called yet, but I'm sure they will keep the House, after all, every other vote has went against us). So they can repeal those laws, and pass new ones, including Trump's tariffs. I'm sure you'll cut the cost of groceries back to what they were when Trump was in office. And I'm sure that gasoline will go down to what it was at it's lowest in the Trump Administration.

Again, Glenn, you're the dog that caught the car. You've blamed all the ills of our nation onto the Dems, and now you have a chance to turn it all around, and prove to America that you know what's best.
