Radio always had better pictures than TV. We lost something when it went to MTV and the music became a sound track rather than a means to facilitate making your own pictures.

I do miss radio. It always made much better footage in my head.

It's just not the same. Now it's something that's on in the background while you're working out at the gym. Too many words and not enough music.

The most ominous development in YouTube is how many of the videos now have those little gaps in the playback line at the bottom. In the past, these have usually been the precursors of commercial breaks. If they appeared in a streaming playback, you knew it was only a matter of time.

The first version is has a harder edge a bit more aggressive the second a bit stripped down but perhaps bolder presence with a feel of the drumming of those longer songs on the paranoid album. They both tell a tender truth in a scary setting. I like em both for different reasons.
